What do I overlook here
That’s what I just got, though one of the reasons in the depth. I couldn’t fit the unas pro 8 in my rack. Also, the WAF… unas pro is a lot more palatable. Just remember you can’t run VMs on any of the ubiquiti NASs. You’ll need a separate server

Uninterruptible power supply announced
This is the same thing they did with the NAS lineup. It offers absolutely nothing of advantage Utterly false. The UNAS Pro 8 at $800 is EXTREMELY compelling package just from a hardware standpoint. Off the top of my head, the Aoostar WTR max is probably the closest thing in terms of value propositio

Personal Budget NAS
Look at Ubiquiti Unifi UNAS. This would be more then enough for several of thier NAS products and a few hard drives. They are easy to setup up and easy to manage. I have. UNAS Pro and absolutely love it.

In a short time the Ubiquiti UNAS 4 should be available. Desktop version of their rack-mounted NAS. It is $379 and can hold 4x HDD They'll also sell you 24TB Enterprise drives, but feel free to buy your own, just make sure they are Red (NAS), Purple (Surveillance/media), or Gold (Enterprise). Any thoughts on Ubiquiti NAS vs Synology?
From my experience with a similar set up to yours (I have a Synology DS412+ and I also have a UNAS-Pro) the answer to your question depends on your wants and uses. TL;DR UNAS for basic file storage, Synology for more advanced projects/uses. My opinion: My prospective is the UNAS line is great for pe
