UNAS Pro 8?
The thing is Ubiquiti is still at a lower price than the QNAPs and Synology running the same or similar SoC. A QNAP TS-832PXU-4G is $939 on Amazon with the same SoC. The UNAS Pro 8 will be $799. The QNAP doesn't come with any NVME sockets and you can't add a 2nd PSU to that model later. You have to

UPS & UNAS Pro 8 - I know they’re incompatible but can anyone confirm my understanding?
Most of those people don't really know what they're talking about. They see "simulated" sine wave and freak out thinking it's a fundamentally flawed product, when it is not. I am not an electrical engineer but all the research I've seen has shown that the lack of pure sine wave is not as big a deal

Trying to de-Google and having issues installing Nextcloud
Yes, definitely want to self-host. I don't want to trade Google's cloud for someone else's cloud. And the NAS solution is already decided upon and installed and working incredibly well. I won't be trading it for some other type of NAS because UNAS Pro integrates into my Unifi app already and is cont

Tomorrow must be the day, right?
I'm shopping around for a small business NAS to replace our super old exchange server that these days acts only as a glorified file server which at present only holds few hundred megabytes of Word, Excel, and PDF files. The emails were migrated to the Microsoft cloud a few years ago. (we keep our ha

Unas or synology?
Don't get me wrong, I've got a love/hate relationship with Ubiquiti, my whole network infrastructure consists of their devices... But overall I don't see a real advantage in the integration into the Unifi GUI. My two cents on this: Data Security excluded (RAID mirroring), any device that's able to p

Is everyone waiting to see how they need to replace their Time Capsule?
I've been using a Ubiquiti UNAS Pro with Time Machine for the last few months and it works great. I recently migrated from an older Synology after all their drama not supporting third party HDDs. I never could get Time Machine to work fast and reliably on the Synology. I'm sure the upgrade from 1 Gb

Any thoughts on Ubiquiti NAS vs Synology?
I just migrated from an old Synology to UNAS Pro. It’s storage…it works…am happy. My Synology is now my backup NAS that I keep in sync with my primary (UNAS). Considering getting SFP card for the Synology. I like having management of it in the single pane of glass so to speak with Ubiquiti.

Any thoughts on Ubiquiti NAS vs Synology?
From my experience with a similar set up to yours (I have a Synology DS412+ and I also have a UNAS-Pro) the answer to your question depends on your wants and uses. TL;DR UNAS for basic file storage, Synology for more advanced projects/uses. My opinion: My prospective is the UNAS line is great for pe

UNAS 2 Doesn't Work with Time Machine
Time Machine working perfectly on my UNAS Pro, and also did on the UNAS 2 for the short time I had it. OP should amend their post as from reading it they're clearly not following the instructions (copying sparsebundle? Why?) Ubiquiti provide a link (https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/172997760309
