Warning that bears repeating - Unifi UPS offerings DO NOT SUPPORT UNAS-Pro-8

ron perlman voice "ubnt, ubnt never changes" i was amazed at what you said and then saw this UPS 2U installed, but can't pair UNAS Pro 8 | Ubiquiti Community sigh, their product managers are the worst

I literally can't even

Yeah, just submitted. It's been a frustrating experience with the UNAS line. Starting with this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/1rvioew/unas_4_has_drive_failed_all_four_ssds/ Which I returned both UNAS 4 for the UNAS Pro 8, thinking it would do a better job handling my specific model of SSD (s

Oh come on are they really?? I get it on the UCG-Fiber cuz it's totally optional and kind of a niche thing to run Protect on your gateway, but on the UNAS Pro 8? Come on Ubiquiti that's just distasteful. One of the reasons people buy the Pro 8 is for the SSD support.

Warning that bears repeating - Unifi UPS offerings DO NOT SUPPORT UNAS-Pro-8

At 6:52 in the review below it shows the UNAS Pro 8 being available to pair for safe shutdown, but when he hovers over it (slow down the video), it says it needs to be on the latest version to work. If that’s not the case then it’s very misleading, especially since we know Ubiquiti approved the vide

New NAS product pages are up!

And the Quad-Core ARM® Cortex®-A57 at 1.7 GHz is still not allowed to rest. Ubiquiti refuses to let it go Edit: As a UNAS Pro owner, I'm disappointed I don't get NVME caching or USB-C connectivity, or the ability to power my NAS via an enormous PoE injector.

I know opinion on the UPS is polarized but I got mine installed this week and so far I’m happy with it.

  • It's not pure sine wave, and doesn't work with their own UNAS Pro-You can't change when to send shutdown signal. So it shuts down under a minute. So basically not good for anything better than a few seconds.- Power cycles ALL the outlets to try and turn UDM on. This will obviously cause problems wit

UNAS Pro 4 - Now Available + Need Help!

Yeah and I’ve definitely experienced that. These POSIX fundamentals are just straight up assumed to be functional by NFS. I wasted my entire UNAS Pro 8 return window chasing my tail on what I thought was some kind of problem with my linux box because it never occurred to me that Ubiquiti would’ve de

Wow, that would be a major design issue for their ecosystem. I've got one sitting new in box, plus 4 more 12TB's, I was going to add to my system, to migrate from my unas pro. Would it be fine if connected to the ubiquiti pdu instead of directly to the ups?

UNAS-PRO & RSYNC (BROKEN WITH UNAS UPDATE) - July 2025

FIGURED IT OUT! all i had to do was find out my GUID or UUID of the UNAS-PRO by SSH-ing into it ... and from the root directory, key in "ls -F /volume" ... now you have your ID! for example, my shared folder path now looks like this: /volume/83abaf14-d9ad-41ca-bbf5-e8aff8794274/.srv/.unifi-drive/sha

Backup photos and videos to unas with iPhone on latest identity endpoint release

The UNAS product line is pretty hit and miss. I'm on my third UNAS 8 Pro and it finally works as advertised. Customer Support has been pretty good despite my ticket spanning 3 holidays. NFS is slower than I expected and there were some really bad NVME compatibility issues with the initial production
