Terrible Customer Service
I have 2 Deco X55 units. The December update added the QoS option, which was activated by default. It caused a lot of connectivity problems. I disabled QoS by going to Settings -> More. I still see the main unit's red light go on for a few seconds sometimes, but there is no loss of connectivity.

Wired mesh but with opnsense?
If the Decos running in AP mode lose their 802.11k/v/r capabilities, seemless roaming between APs will be less likely, but generally it's up to the client, not the AP. What capability does OPNSense provide that the Decos alone do not? OPNSense probably has a firewall-only configuration like pfSense
