Deco BE85 security updates ceasing in September 2026
Check all of TP-Link's routers. They're not good with providing timely firmware updates or fixing security issues or bugs . Some routers never get updates, while others, like the BE95 go more than a year between updates.

BE85 lost internet connection. Possible yellow light?
You're welcome and was an idea. My BE95's and BE85's the same TP-Link did some updates that partially fix the DNS issue, but only partially. No updates in 11 months for the BE95 which behave entirely like your BE85. Since TP-Link obviously isn't fixing these and other critical issues, dumped mine an

Mesh system upgrade suggestions
I vote for Option 1 - “Keep what I have”. For 500mbps internet service, WiFi 6 is sufficient. Unless you have a TON of WiFi 7 devices, there’s no real reason to upgrade.. and even if you do have many WiFi 7 devices, the ASUS XT12 is very nice and still has life left. The BE95's haven't receifirmware updates since December 2024, leaving many many bugs and security flaws unlatched; TP-Link won't confirm when or if any updates are coming to fix the many issues. Most powerful router?
I would suggest decoupling the router you're going to buy and getting multiple access points, like the omada EAP773 and a switch for it, none of the consumer routers have what it takes to support VPN at 1gbps that requires AES-INI support and a 3ghz processor, even if they have the potential archite
