Same shit different brand. X knife got hyped > out of stock for awhile > back in stock > out of stock again > price raised > repeats. Remember the time when red handle Takamura was a budget knife, just a step above Tojiro VG-10 and look what happened. CCK was dirt cheap. Edit: I just googled Tojiro

ISO Chef's knife

I bought mine (210mm gyuto) from Amazon when it was 60 usd and it was a decent deal.I just checked now for curiosity and it's 139 usd, that's too much for a Tojiro DP imho.

Most home cooks don’t need expensive knives

The only Tojiro sg2 knives I've most recently seen are the Tojiro Reppu Kiritsuke and Gyuto knives sold at C & M. Help

https://tokushuknife.com/products/takamura-vg-10-migaki-210mm-gyuto-yo-handle Coupon: tokushu10 at check out drops out down to 150. Can’t find a better knife in this price bracket. Tojiro at this price feels criminal. I got my 210 gyuto for like 70 bux on Amazon a few years ago.

Cutlery and More Zuma Knife thoughts and opinions?

I have the gyuto and the bunka. They are both gems. Much higher performance than dp series tojiro. These are an absolute steal at the price.

What’s a good chef knive for under 50-75 bucks? And a good whetstone for under 40-50 bucks? I’m a home cook but I want that upgrade, you know, I’d love a japanese knive even though I’m on a budget
