I am starting my Ausbildung (Culinary school) in Germany and I want to get a chef knife but...

Victorinox Fibrox Chef's knife Wüsthof Classic Chef's knife Tojiro DP Gyuto These are perfect for culinary school and you can always get a more expensive knife after culinary school. In case you need to purchase more knives (like a small office knife or a bread knife), I would stick to the Victorino

Chef knife birthday help 🙏🏻

If you’ve got 100 pound I’d sink it all into one nice Gyuto and avoid cheap Chinese dropship knives like the ones you’ve mentioned, unless your partner truly doesn’t care about quality/performance and values aesthetics above all else. Something like this Tojiro DP would be an outstanding gift https:

Help finding the perfect high use, functional, no frills gyuto for my husband?

Big fan of the Tojiro DP Gyuto, been using mine (24cm) for 10 years now, still going strong.

Regret buying

Misono Swedish steel 195mm: it cuts OK and was pretty affordable. but misono profile seems to be relatively low and it's fit & finish was a little poor. Had to sand down a bit of the spine to make it more comfortable. Bought it to test out carbon steel but I end up giving it away to a friend Tojiro

I want to buy my bf a knïfe. His dream one is The Nikos kniife, but after checking online many are saying it’s bad quality and it’s basically a scam. What high quality knïfe would you recommend as a “dupe”? I believe the main reason he loves the Nikos one is because it has such a large blade

First of all, really nice gift! And good compromise to get the Aliexpress version and an actual good knife as well. I found one on Ali for ~€35, brand is XITUO. This gives you around £160 for the good knife. You're looking for a general purpose knife. Main questions for me would be, what size is mos

Just cannot get good at sharpening

Yea I bought the Amazon stones before reading that could be actually harder. I have pretty decent knives I feel (misono carbon steel gyuto and Tojiro dp gyuto are my main work horses) just super frustrating learning curve i guess. Especially when im using them everyday for precision knife work.
