Thinkware Q200 is the best buy, imo. i spent a couple months casually researching (r/dashcams is an excellent resource) and settled on that model. Thinkware is known to handle Texas summers well, and the Q200 comes with a front and rear camera option. install is a breeze.

Thinkware cams are great in the heat, and have great parking mode options including radar on some models. Avoid anything under the q200.

hopefully someone has footage. good time to invest in a r/dashcam. i did a bunch of research a year ago and settled on the Thinkware Q200 front and rear camera setup. $160 is a good deal if you can find a kit that includes both front & rear. Thinkwares are designed to handle the hot Texas summers, a

If you live in the heat (I'm in Phoenix) Thinkware is very good. The F70 pro is a 1080p camera , basic 99.99, Wi-Fi to connect to the camera to view videos (No screen) They have the Q200 pro for 119.99. No screen you use the app to connect. It's a 2k video vs 1080p so a step up for 20 bucks more. If

Blackvue cams seem to hold up to the cold the best, and recover most graciously when they do get too cold(one the interior heats up a bit they boot up, some brands need to be reconnected to power, or need to get much warmer for much longer before working. You can get LTE models, or hot spot to your

Red Tiger is a straight up scam. Fake specs, paid reviews and Amazon placement. Any dollar spent on them is a dollar wasted. Garmin is alright, but only lasts a few years. Viofo needs to be formatted monthly, and only works with 2 SD cards. Can get cranky when it's been cold requiring plugging and u

While they’re not within spec for Edmonton winters, they do work. I had an FA200 in my old car and currently have a Q200 and both worked fine through the cold snap. Also both have a status light and a voice prompt so if there are any issues you’ll know before you drive off. I also had a good laugh a

You can get a clearance Blackvue front only from Visions or BlackboxMyCar, or a front only Thinkware Q200 in your budget. For closer to $200 you can get a Thinkware Q200 front and rear. Cheaper Thinkware models have poor night vision, and other brands like Viofo struggle with the cold and get minima
