Thinkware Q200 2K Front & Rear Dash Cam Bundle (Q200DCH32) | Visions Electronics Canada https://share.google/7EB4oaE6bhjLHuiKE I have this set up, I've been happy with it. It's hardwired but there is an accessory socket plug in cable.

There a several good options. I use the Thinkware Q200. Performance is good and you can power it from the Homelink Rearview Mirror with an adapter from MX5Things.

Thinkware dash cam with an ODB2 cable is very easy to self install ODB2 power is safe to use. It's fused and designed to power tech tools. Q200 is as low as I'd go, and you get better video quality and additional features as you go up the line.

You are correct, the battery will drain if you do not unplug it Unfortunately that cam isn't going to work for your application. There's an optional hardwiring kit that suits down the camera at 11.6v, but that's too low. Your vehicle battery will need to be replaced every year or so, and if you live

Thinkware q200 is a great basic cam, and the U3000 is a great high end cam. Both are compatible with the ODB2 power adapter, which will avoid issues with the 12v plug.

Thinkware Q200 with ODB2 power is a decent choice. Reliable, leaves the outlet free for your phone.

Unfortunately a lot of dash cams are unreliable and don't record when needed. Wiring most dash cams to always get power will cause them to run down the vehicle battery. I recommend getting a Thinkware Q200 or U3000 and the optional ODB2 cable. This lets you use a plug near the steering wheel, and ch

USB won't give you power when parked. A Thinkware q200 with an ODB2 power kit would be a better starting point. If you want to go Viofo you need a hardwiring kit and fuse taps to get parking mode, and you need to format it every month or so .

I installed the Thinkware Q200 front and rear dashcam myself. It was pretty simple to do running the wire under the trim.I didn't want a rear screen on the front facing camera. It's pretty sleek, overall, and I can't see it from the drivers POV. I also used an ODB-II adapter for parking mode. There'
