Ninja vs Moccamaster

I like the Moccamaster's simplicity and commitment to repairability. And I like that the KBT (and KBTS, which is the model I have) uses a thermal carafe instead of a burner. I bought it to replace a crappy super cheap drip machine. Yes, the coffee is better, even the same basic canister of pre-groun

Prime Day KBTS Moccamaster is great

The KBGV is 1” taller and 1.25” longer and has a 40oz glass carafe versus the 32oz stainless steel carafe. The other big difference is the KBGV has a second switch you flip to select a half or a full pot, which changes the temperature of the heating element under the carafe and turns on/off the boil

My disappointed perspective

I use mine a couple of times a week. I can’t brew as flavorful cup of coffee as I can using my V60, so I use more commercial beans in my Moccamaster and use my “better beans” for my V60. The Moccamaster brews a consistent and nice cup of coffee. Better than other cups I’ve tried from drip machines a

Is this normal with the Aiden shower head?

Get the KBTS model with the flow control switch - and use Cafec 103 filters (not the mocca master ones, which are slow and clog easily) and you’ll be surprised how good the coffee is. If you get other Moccamaster models, and use Moccamaster branded filters, it’s not nearly as impressive.

Glass vs Thermal

The KBTS is the supreme model moccamaster. Here's why. It has a thermal carafe that is steel-lined, not glass. So thermal shock concerns don't apply. It doesn't use a hot plate which means that you can brew into any container you please. I've brewed directly into a mug, into a travel mug, a differen

which espresso machines have less plastic?

My spouse was getting espressos from our neighbor and their Breville Barista Express at least 3 times a week until they moved. I had researched it all to try to get my spouse off their espressos since Breville is full of plastic plus our neighbors were parents of 3 under 3 so I knew there was crud i

Cup One or KGB Select?

Neither. Get the KBTS. It's the smallest model with a thermal carafe. It makes up to 1 L (32 oz) which is perfect for 4 people to share (if you ever host your family or some friends). Because it's the thermal model, you can take the carafe out and put a travel mug or thermos or mug underneath and br

Best brewer for busy dad?

I currently own a Moccamaster KBTS and an xBloom Studio. I previously owned (and returned) an Aiden. My .02 - if money isn’t an issue get the Moccamaster and an extremely good grinder. Since it’s such a basic/dumb device - the grinder (and of course water) will have the biggest impact, but with a to

If you had to recommend one coffee maker in 2026, what would it be?

Love my Moccamaster KBTS with thermal carafe. I’m the only coffee drinker in my house and it’s perfect for me. Also have a Barzata grinder.

KBT Moccamaster: Impressions After One Year

Just got a Moccamaster KBTS. Brews good but not superior coffee compared to other drip coffee makers in its price range. Other than the water heating and water reservoir assemblies, and the thermal carafe, the build quality is flimsy. Plastic basket and cover are feather light and chintzy. Plastic w
