What's the best time capsule / time machine replacement?
If you want it just for Time Machine - the Synology DS223j. Soon after you get it you'll see all the uses and which you purchased a better one.

NAS tárhely tapasztalatok és segítség?
Nekem van egy pár Synology NAS-om. Belépő szintűek, J osztályúak. Van 10 évesél is régebbi és szépen megy. Otthonra ajánlhatom a DS223j típust. E

[Q] Any chance of continuing to use macOS w/ a Time Capsule
Nope, and you don't want to. Buy a simple two-disk NAS like a Synology DS223j with NAS grade drives, set it up as a RAID1 mirror and move on. If you're using an original Time Capsule, that drive must be 10+ years old at this point (assuming it's original) and if it's an older Time Capsule could be a

I have a Synology DS223j with two 4TB drives. It would be fine for your needs. I run a Plex server on mine and Steaming on the home network is fine if you decide to try that later.
