Anyone 'regret' coming from another NAS ecosystem - and going to ugreen ugos?

No remorse so far with DXP4800+ (2024 kickstarter $420) coming from coming Synology DS107e (2007 $200), DS410 (2011 $500), DS218+ (2019 $250). Synology was getting too expensive and not enough HW for their pricing.

Best, most basic Mac Mini to host Channels server?

I have a Synology 218+, but I came across this post on here a few weeks ago because I was having the same issues the OP in that post described; most everyone who replied suggested that their Mac Minis either fixed the issue or the issue one at all for them. So I am just looking...

DS218+ Upgrade

I still have My DS218+. I'm using it for PC backups, Plex and Channels DVR also. I'm probably going to retire it at the end of this year. I was just thinking about going with a Mini-PC and a few external drives as I don't really use any of the Synology apps.

Terramaster D4-320 vs Synology DS218+

Neither. Neither one of them are servers. They're both Network Attached Storage devices. Both of them have dog shit processors, the Terramaster with a Asmedia SoC, the Synology with a nearly decade old bottom of the barrel Celeron. (Seriously, the J3355 in the 218+ was released in 2016. It has a tot

I went way overkill with my new Plex Server and have zero regrets.

Hey, you are not alone, I got a Asus NUC 15 Pro+ (Intel Core Ultra 7 255H) ordered last week. Ditching my old Synology DS218+.

Ugreen NAS — hardware is great, but how's the software now?

What I hated about Synology is for me to leverage anything outside of computer. Let's say file management from my iphone to the NAS, it was a huge pain the but. All the applications just straight up suck, but UGOS is a one app solution which many many people love. It doesn't have the security/backup

HowTo install on Synology

IcI assume you have a older version of a Synology NAS. Those do not work with AVX which is needed to Maschine Learning. Have the same problem with my DS218+

Must be nice

My case scenario was different tho. I am CGNATED yes, but I do have an IPv6 ready connection, aside from that, my tailnet was never flagged as DERP, I think the main culprit was the encryption protocol that TS enforces, and that it does run in userspace in my two TS exit nodes (a Synology NAS DS218+

TIL Linux users can add RD to Online Accounts for desktop integration

Don't use the WebDAV but instead use zurg. I am not sure if I am using it, I most likely am as I have it enabled lol, but still this doesn't answer my question, how do I integrate Zurg/DMM to Decypharr??? I am not sure I even used it with Riven (when I added stuff from DMM manually Riven never recog

Nuc Skull Canyon i7 in 2025

I listed the thunderbolt gpu enclousure on FB matket and develop NAS system using the skull canyon. The m2-satax5 adaptor works very well, Quick Sync Video (QSV) runs smoothly with jellyfin transcoding, the general performance is way better than my synology DS218+.
