Synology to QNAP
I went from a DS218+ to a TS-664 (was waiting on the 923+ from Synology and that crapped out). I've been pretty happy with it and the 664 was better hardware specs and more storage space for less money. I left existing data on my 218+ and built 664 from new drives and just transferred data over via

"Nas" con Raspberry
Io attualmente ho un Nas Synology 218+ che uso come archiviazione di rete e per qualche container docker, nonostante la vecchiaia funziona senza perdere un colpo. Con la nuova politica sugli hdd non so se consiglierei nuovamente Synology, ma a livello di funzionalità e semplicità di impostazione è v

After 15 years with Synology, the last 3 months in unraid been life changing
Well said. You can't compare those solutions. Why does someone drive a truck, others prefer small hatchbacks? And don't even mention car brands. I've made the switch from Synology->unRaid->Truenas I have my reasons for preferring Truenas, but what I miss most from Synology is the set and forget ment

Newbie - Debating between DXP2800 vs DS225+
I would say go with the Synology. While it is not perfect it works for all your requirements, including the part where you do not want to tinker with it.I have been using Synology for 10 years+ (DS214 and DS218+) and they have been rock stable. I recently bought a DXP2800 and installed TrueNAS on it

Synology NAS upgrade best way to move data
This is what I did when upgrading from DS214play to DS218+. Worked without problems. You can probably also find documentation by synology about this.

Looking to buy a mini pc, would this fit my use case?
That PC would work. However, I'd recommend getting a NAS, particularly a Synology NAS. Otherwise you'd be forced to add some sort of network storage (one additional device) + that mini PC. The Synology would be an AIO solution with lots of features. I've had my DS218+ running non-stop for 6+ years a

I'm looking for a NAS.
Absolutely agree. The Ugreen is way , way more machine for the money, but the Synology is easier to figure out and e Work with. I have bothe a dxp2800 and a Synology DS218+. The software on the Synology does more stuff that the offerings on the ugreen, but ugreens offering will grow. If you go Synol
