Backing up Plex Data
Nice setup. The idea behind the QNAP is to protect from failure of the DS1522+, or multiple drive failures. It also allows me to use Backblaze for off-site cloud storage in the unlikely event of a natural disaster or fire that would destroy both of my units in my home. Yes, redundancy upon redundanc

First NAS + Local AI Setup — Synology vs UGREEN vs Others?
TBH, grab a Minisforum N5 Pro or another equivalent. Then you can run MUCH larger models on the Radeon 890M iGPU than on any consumer GPU. But you'd need a 3rd party OS (unraid or truenas usually) so overall don't expect any personalized support, not from Minis, certainly not from the OS developer.

What did Synology users learn moving to Ugreen?
Yup. Same, I had a lot of ex-enterprise drives and was worried I'd be stuck one day. Plus the quality issues... I had some corrosion issues with a DS418play that was out of warranty, and after replacing it, I later tore it down and cleaned it. Then I realized how incredibly cheap and prone to corros

Saan kayo nagbaback up ng pictures and files pag puno na ang memory ng cellphone niyo?

I suggest getting at least 3 bay para you can make use of the RAID function. Meaning if one drive crashes or gets corrupted, everything is recoverable. Down

advice on choosing a NAS for professional photography
Chiming in because I own a DXP6800 Pro. And still use a Synology DS1522+ to back it up. Just because it was my NAS until this summer. See r/Synology for my experience with that unit, which I bought in June 2024 to replace a DS418play that had “backplane issues”. And I have around 8TB of family photo

Q: Mac Mini Storage for Tons of Pics 2TB or cloud/external?
Well, this is a Mac thread so I won't "drag" you into the NAS world, but it all started some 4 yeas ago toward the end of the pandemic: my son had been using a Synology NAS since he and his family (4 young kids) had one at home. Having a NAS allowed him to control where they can go on the internet,
