Backing up personal Google Workspace account
A Synology NAS would be enough. The software has a backup package you can install to do that.

Erstes NAS - oder doch was ganz anderes?

A Synology NAS with the Google Backup module would work well in your case. If the content already exists on YouTube (like livestreams, sermons, etc), I don’t see a reason to store it elsewhere.

Yep. I've backed up a bunch of Macs over the network with Time Machine to various Synology NASs for years and it's great. It happens automatically whenever the Mac is on the same WiFi network, so you don't even have to think about it. A permanently-connected hard drive would be the same.

Backing up to synology NAS
I just use their Synology Drive app and it works great for me. It's on the AUR.

Do you guys backup your data using Time Machine before updating MacOS?
I am not a fan of Time Machine on my MacBook because I am using it on the go way to often so the backup to my NAS would fail. And carrying an external drive is not an option for me. So I switched approach. I only care about my files and not about my settings because those are pretty default with min
