Switch from fenix 8
I used Garmin for 8 yrs, most of them re Instinct. My last device was Crossover Amoled. The physical hand broke so I sold it. I just bought Suunto Vertical 2 and here are my thougts. Vertical 2 screen is big and easy to read. The buid quality is superb. There are much less watch faces on Suunto and

advice on the right model
For general use, battery life, even at it's worst, is still measured in weeks on the Race and Vertical series. With the Race S having the worst battery life since it is the smallest model and the Vertical Solar having the best because the verticals have larger batteries in addition to the solar. The

Vertical 2 techs specs
It's simply what the market wants. People are accustomed to AMOLED displays - they're coming from Apple/Google watches and they appreciate the visual quality, even if it means sacrificing battery life during sports activities. Most users aren't familiar with MIP technology, and when they encounter s

Suunto Vertical 1 – A Few Questions About the Future + Questions About the Vertical 2 and a Comparison with the Coros Nomad / the New Vertix 2026
AMOLED is great. After many years of using LCD + MIP, I am not going back. AMOLED with its higher contrast is much easier to see for my aging eyes I am 55 and have zero issues with colors being too vibrant as you say. I don't find it obnoxious. No, I don't think another Vertical is coming soon I thi

Help Me Decide: Suunto Vertical 2 or Coros Apex 4
I have the Vertical 2 and the Coros Nomad. Both of them are great watches for sports tracking. If you are not going to wear it everyday, just for sports activities I would go for the Coros because it's cheaper and offers the same or maybe slightly more metrics and customisation. Suunto build quality

Thoughts after 130km ultra-marathon testing Vertical 2:
You're crazy, doing a review after running 80 miles! 😱🤪 Anyway Suunto has a confusing line of watches with a lot of overlap: Run, Race S, Race 2 and Vertical 2. If they had made the Vertical 2 with an improved MIPS display instead, things would be so much simpler and you'd get a watch with 90 hours

Suunto Vertical
I think that the Vertical, especially the solar version is still a compelling option in 2025, even now with the release of the Race 2 and Vertical 2. As both of the second generation watches are very similar to each other (largely boils down to the presence of a rotating crown, the flashlight, and v

New Coros pace pro / Vertix announcement
Look at Suunto Vertical 2, Amoled screen and 65 hours in full multiband GPS mode during activity. Apex 4 and and even Vertix 2s don’t come near that number with there MIP screens ind multiband mode.

Help Me Decide: Suunto Vertical 2 or Coros Apex 4
I had the original COROS Apex Pro. Kept it because it worked just fine, waiting for what I “thought” was going to be Apex 3, but turned out to be the 4…. The screen clarity of the Suunto V2 just crushes the screen of the Apex 4. This matters a lot to me personally. It definitely matters less to othe

Help Me Decide: Coros Apex 4 or Suunto Vertical 2
I have both (YT reviewer) You're in a COROS sub so there will be that biases. I love COROS and I think their app and general ecosystem are better than Suunto's, but I'd still prefer the Vertical 2. It's a beast of a watch. To be honest, the Apex 4 wasn't my fav. The scree felt really dim to me. Feel
