Nikon releases the NIKKOR Z 24-105mm f/4-7.1

It honestly depends on what you shoot, and what you are comparing it to. I had an original Z5 for about 3 years before going with the Z5II. The AF system with the original Z5 was much more reliable than my prior mirrorless cameras of Sony A5000, Panasonic GX85, Canon M5/M100 and Fuji X-S10. Compared

Regarding your question about cameras, I would sit down and figure out what you think you really want out of a camera. You can get some really nice DSLR and older mirrorless cameras for reasonable prices second-hand. I have a Sony a5000 as my first real camera and a 70-210mm OSS lens for my first te

My first fully functional SLR!

Oof, that has to be rough seeing all that carnage, but I guess someone has to develop the film. Thanks for your dedication to the craft and support to the medical community, for what it’s worth. I’ve had a few lenses that I got in a garage sale years ago, but didn’t have a camera that would work wit

6.3MP, 20 Years Old. Not award-winners but proof good L-glass always wins!

I’m using a Sony a5000 with a Tamron 70-300mm. I’m happy with the images I’m getting, but the a5000 has no view finder, only the digital screen, and the autofocus is pretty bad.

any idea how to get clinically diagnosed?

Your post on r/cameras immediately got removed as I was replying to it, so I’ll paste my comment here: Get a used camera online or from a camera store. Budget offerings like Sony’s A6000 series (EXCEPT THE A6700) often go for under 1000 CAD with a minimal shutter count (basically mileage for cameras

Best camera for museum inventory photo-taking?

At that budget a used Olympus TG-6 or TG-7 are about the only recent cameras I can think of that do acceptable macro photography. The JJC ring led attachment and flash attachments can help with lightning as well. They are not the greatest cameras due to the small sensor but punch above their weight

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! December 19, 2025

Hi! I’d like to know if, heading into 2026, it’s still worth buying a Sony A5000/A6000. For context, I’m new to digital photography but I’ve been shooting analog for about a year with an Olympus OM40. I love the process, but it’s time-consuming and expensive, which isn’t always compatible with my st
