The Sony colour issues are a myth. That was from the a7 and a7ii era. There's no Leica colour or look either. It's all about the lens rendering. A skilled editor can make X look like Y in terms of colour. If you want to use the Leica APO lenses, get the SL. Otherwise the a7riv and GM primes are a gr

Hey.

So a lot of folks have talked about color science not being a "thing" or that you can always fix the colors in post. This may be a hot take for this sub but I have switched systems multiple times because of color science and it absolutely makes a difference. When you're shooting people and the color

I disagree. The Sony Alpha A7II shoots bracket photos, has 24 MP and is full-frame. It'll work great with the right lens. No 4K video, but that's not what OP asked.

If you alreayd bought it, it's totally fine for a beginner. You really don't need full-frame though. An APSC camera like the Sony a6400 will be newer and you'll have access to a lot more lenses at a cheaper price. When I decided I wanted a full frame camera, I really wanted the Sony A7III but it's d

Well, as said, it’s not that the first gen A7 is inherently bad with AF, it’s definetly way under the later versions (th A7II is a BOG upgrade in that compartment). Is a really different way of shooting than a DSLR and needs some getting used to. IMHO, if I were to go on a lighter everyday carry, I

How about a used A7II so you can use the Sony full frame glass you've already got and so you can continue to invest into the same ecosystem? For static stills (Ie no autofocus) Sony hasn't really made any major updates to the A7 series' photo capabilities since the A7II, with a particular lack of an

Great trade, the a7II is a seriously capable body. Under $150 on Sony FE mount is tough new but the used market is your friend. A used Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 runs around $150-180 and is a solid starting point for both cars and nature, slightly over budget but worth the stretch. For car photography you r

If you’re really looking to just get one and done, I’d recommend looking into the Sony a7ii, full frame camera, body is around $500. That way if you want a full frame later, you already got a pretty good one. This camera body also has IBIS. The e-mount lenses are also versatile, and there’s some ove
