What the dark night sky looks like now due to Starlink satellites

a real dslr or mirrorless with 30s exposure will get you close. The main image in this post is a composite of multiple images over a night, stitched together. An older Sony A7II, tripod, and f2.8 16mm lens could get you close to this with practice.

Apple Announces iPhone Air With Ultra-Thin Design

I have just gone back to carrying an actual camera. Is it a direct replacement? No, but if your main goal is to take pics, a 15 year old mirrorless or DSLR will take better pics. My sony A7ii (which can be found used for cheap) takes massively better pics. These days I carry a Nikon Zf with a small

SL2 or A7RIV?

The Sony colour issues are a myth. That was from the a7 and a7ii era. There's no Leica colour or look either. It's all about the lens rendering. A skilled editor can make X look like Y in terms of colour. If you want to use the Leica APO lenses, get the SL. Otherwise the a7riv and GM primes are a gr

Camera preferences for using vintage lenses?

I've found my Sony A7ii to work very well with vintage lenses. I find focus peaking works pretty well for me along with the overexposure indication (zebra striping). And if I want to get really accurate with the focus I can zoom in quite easily.

Worth the switch?

Right, as a fellow Sony 20-70 f/4 owner and M43 shooter, let me share my thoughts… I own the Sony A7C (so, a step up from your A7II) along with the 20-70 f/4, plus a few other lenses. I also have an OM-5 paired with the 12-45 f/4 Pro. When I bought the Sony 20-70 f/4, my intention was to replace the

Two hobbies collide

Oh don’t get me started haha. I like to buy used and lean towards gear that lasts and can be repaired. Holds true for all the coffee stuff. Capricorn mode: Camera bundle bought for $520 last November: Sony a7ii with kit lens and Sony 85mm, 4 batteries, an extended grip and a 300w strobe kit. Then I’

Anyone Switch From an A7IV to a Z6III or Z8?

I have beaten this drum to death by now but I went A7R2 -> Z7II w/Viltrox E-Z for about 4 months. Mid June sold the Z7II for a Z8. I shared your sentiment for disdain towards spending a metric ton just to shoot decent FPS on Sony, not to mention CFe A vs B. Ultimately it was a mix of that, having to

Would you recommend Sony Alpha A7II for Real Estate Photography? What lenses to use?

I disagree. The Sony Alpha A7II shoots bracket photos, has 24 MP and is full-frame. It'll work great with the right lens. No 4K video, but that's not what OP asked.

Second hand A7 II for $584. Good camera for a beginner?

If you alreayd bought it, it's totally fine for a beginner. You really don't need full-frame though. An APSC camera like the Sony a6400 will be newer and you'll have access to a lot more lenses at a cheaper price. When I decided I wanted a full frame camera, I really wanted the Sony A7III but it's d
