Please explain me: what is the "Sony look"?

DP i AC for still uses his FS7’s! They are work horses. His workflow is dialed in. I have been shooting on Sony for the past 8 years now. Mainly because i was touring with bands and constantly shooting in low light situations. So at the time, the A7sii was the best option. Now i run an a7iv. If anyt

Returning to shooting professionally after taking years off and SO much has changed. Need help with workflow if anyone has any advice!

I love my old VSCO profiles and when I upgraded from my A7iii to an A7Cii I was devastated that the profiles no longer worked... I googled around and found some people on a forum doing hex edits to the profile files to get Lightroom to recognize them as compatible... It's a pain in the ass but it wo

Canon EOS 5D (rel 2005) in New York (2010)

exactly, and the colors stay accurate which is unusual. My only mirrorless camera that can do that is my A7sii.

Hey r/kollywood , I'm Sujith N Subramaniam , Cinematographer of Kudumbasthan & Digital Restoration of Kuruthipunal from its original 35mm theatrical trailer. Ask Me Anything !!!

bmpcc 4k is actually a solid camera for a feature film.i’ve shot so many indie stuff, nakkalites episodes, ads, short films with small cameras… end of the day its all about how well u light, frame and prep. the bmpcc image is very flexible, the dynamic range is good, colours are nice, and if u expos

I keep seeing ads for Imagen-ai has anyone used it for color correcting?

I tried it out, and while it did an ok job, I felt the grade presets that you could choose from were very limiting. A lot of them felt similar to one another. It did a pretty good job of matching a A7SII & a A7III in Slog2 with a A9III in Slog3 though, but it doesn't do any advanced grading like mas

GH6 arriving today, I’m used to Canon EF/EF-S

3yrs later - why did I ever use autofocus - manual is king, I absolutely love it. Very rare I use AF these days. Only regular AF for me now is pocket 3 or action cam. Still love my GH6 and bought an old A7Sii for dark nights which is pretty much permanently on Manual like the GH6. Can’t find any exc

At what point do/did you buy a cinema line camera?

I bought GH6 for cinema, folks whimper none stop about AF but MF is all I use on it and MF anamorphic. It’s gorgeous. I love my A7Sii but the colours are not as nice. That does live for the night though.

A lumix s5 owner and want to get a GH5 or GH5s. Want to know anyone have some footage that they shoot for reels. Also Its kinda crazy gh5 has a usb type C!

I prefer the colours from the GH6 to the G9ii and GH7. In fact I prefer the colours from the GH6 to anything I have used. It is especially pretty in natural environments I have found. The autofocus is not that bad though I do prefer manual, having said that I prefer manual on my phase detect cameras

Im wondering which camera I should buy?

I was similar mate, I was a Practika MTL guy back in the day and coming to digital is still weird to me I must admit even now what 20yrs on or so. Nowadays my camera club seems to be all about editing, judges mention drop highlights in photoshop etc but I come from an SLR background so you take a ph

Thinking of switching to mirrorless… what made you stay with Nikon?

I’ve like 4 cameras now, 2 Nikon, 1 Sony, 1 LUMIX. I do really like the Lumix, it’s the S9 which fills a similar niche as the Fuji cameras, instead of film sim it has built in LUTs and it’s my everywhere camera tbh, fun to use and casual. I don’t like the Sony and am trying to get rid of it And I li
