Anyone tried shooting ”medium format sharpness” on 35mm?

My Contax G 45mm sometimes gave off medium format vibes, especially on sharper film like Ektar 100. It’s just a very sharp lens and ‘sharper’ film than the Fuji Pro 400h I usually use. I had my negatives Imacon scanned if I wanted to make large prints but an Imacon scan of a Hasselblad or Pentax 645

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

Which body/lens for birding?

I have a Sony a7R3 as well as an OM-1. I used to have the Sony 200-600 but I'm 70+ and it is too heavy. The M.Zuiko 300/4 Pro with a 2x tc stays on my OM-1.

Haystack at Sunrise (9/21/25)

Thank you! It's a Sony a7R III with a Sigma 28-70 and polarizing filter. A bit heavy to lug that combo around but I've found Im always glad I did.

Rangefinders vs SLR

I’m a rangefinder guy for the most part. Like a lot of people I had digital canons when I started out. The 1D MKII had a slit screen viewfinder option. The 5D mkII had another screen option but not split. For film I used 2 Contax G1’s and 2 Yashica T4’s. I loooove the G system. It’s autofocus and no

Did I make a mistake?

Well, the 6000 series are considered small cameras, so you don't dare to try the a7, or the a9, for example. You decide if you made a bad purchase or not, since only you can tell if is the camera's volume worth of what it gives you back in return. I find the RX100 series much more "bang for the buck

First week with my new (to me) X100vi

Love these! Which Osan recipe is the fourth one?Currently looking for an x100vi. Where did you find a used one? I’m stubborn and don’t want to pay above MSRP, especially for used. I realize this isn’t an easy task with the way the market is. I have some alerts set for trackers for a new one on Best

I hiked for 3 days through Australia's beautiful Kosciuszko National Park – here are a few favourite shots from the trip!

Thanks so much! I used a Sony A7R III for these shots – I'm really happy with it despite being an 8 year old camera, as the 42 MP sensor captures enough detail for the landscape shots I like to shoot. As for lenses, I mostly used either the Sigma 16-28 2.8 or Sony 100-400 GM, with a few using the Si

Why are some photographers still using DSLRs exclusively?

My 5D mkII died. But I already was a huge fan of the Sony Alpha’s. I bought a second A7 when the 5D died. I still have some Canon lenses, well it’s the ZE Macro Planar. I don’t use it very often it’s not comfortable to use on a Sony. I prefer my 100mm Elmarit R APO. I’m still using Pentax 645 MF DSL

Z5II or Z8?

z5ii and a7iii share the same sensor. You’re getting better af(?), better user experience, a flipy screen, and you can use Z mount lenses. Yes you can adapt EtZ but I wouldn’t unless you need both systems for very specific reasons. I would say if there’s a Z lens that you really like the rendering,
