My first real big lens! 200-400 F4 VR
I had the 200-600 for my Sony a7R3 which was a good lens but I have to say that I'm really happy with my OM-1 setup for birds.

Are Olympus PRO lenses better than FF third party ones?
The premium M43 glass, Olympus Pro line and Leica-branded Pansonic lenses, are pretty good overall, and were some of the first to show what you could really do with mirrorless lens design. Modern full-frame lenses have eaten into a lot of what was only possible in M43 a decade ago. The Olympus 12-10

Why are some photographers still using DSLRs exclusively?
I used my 5D-II for a decade before moving to the a7Riii. While I understand the criticism the UI gets, the results are incredible, and I was able to use all my old L-glass thanks to an adaptor. The interesting thing is that I noticed no difference in colour richness until I eventually bought a nati

What camera should I get?
Unless you are 100% sure that this is going to be a long-term passion of yours, or you are hoping to make some money on the side at this moment, you might be better off spending less than 2k and getting a more entry level camera to make sure you actually enjoy it. There is a difference between using

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?
I have the a6300, a7ii and a7r4. On the Olympus side, I have the OM-1.ii and E-P7. I don't use the kit lens on the Olympus cameras - I mostly use the 12-40/2.8 PRO. The Sony kit lens is shit, and the kit lenses I have for my older Olympus cameras are excellent, and so are samples I've seen online fo

Which body/lens for birding?
I have a Sony a7R3 as well as an OM-1. I used to have the Sony 200-600 but I'm 70+ and it is too heavy. The M.Zuiko 300/4 Pro with a 2x tc stays on my OM-1.

Seeking lense advice
Neither is going to just get you that. I mean both can get you eye details and such sure... But the focal depth is razor thin. What you posted is stacked. Get the Sony if you plan to run about snapping bugs on the go. AF and IS make quick shots much easier. A top flash with diffuser will let you sto

I finally understand the power of M43
The flip side is you can get something like the Tamron 28-200 f/2.8-5.6, which is the same size as the Olympus 12-100 f/4 Pro, and it will do the job of multiple m4/3 primes. I paid € 500 for mine brand new from a grey market seller and it's the equivalent of a 14-100 f/1.4-2.8 in m4/3 land. Bonus p

Should i bother looking into buying a real camera?
Agree with others except camera recommendations. If you go for ANY camera then you'll struggle with 2nd hand lenses. As hobbyist myself, I don't bother with new lenses as of now. Only SONY has that wide cheap secondhand market, even cheap mew ones. Focus on lenses than the camera. What I'll recommen

Shooting below f/2.8 is illegal.
I feel this issue, altough is not that big of a thing, because: a) wider apertures actually make your photos look better, no questions asked. The bokeh makes the subject stand out. and b) shooting with larger apertures will need less time opening the shutter, and thus, a sharper subject (when in foc
