Tell Us What You Think About Your M EV1!

I own a handful of cameras. Next to Leicas M2 and M5 also Nikon F2AS, Hasselblad 501CM, Rolleiflex 3.5E and a ShenHao 4x5. My only digital camera (next to my cell phone), is a Sony from the A7RII. I have not used the Sony for real photography for two or three years, it has been demoted to film scann

Nikon Z5ii or Z6ii

I've had the Z7ii and Z8 for an equal amount of time this year by now. The previous generations AF is fine for most non fast moving stuff but the way the new gen AF works is just different. It's so much more reactive and sticky that its hard to put into words. Expeed6 gets an awful lot of slack and

I re-bought the G series I owned as a teen. I don't get the appeal

Most of the negatives you listed are the appeal. The colors are usually more pleasing. The softer look of the photos can be very appealing compared to the razor sharp images of new cameras and lenses. They have a more nostalgic look and feel. I have a Nikon Z8 and have had other newer cameras like t

Sony A7rii focusing question: Ok so first I know this camera is a piece of shit. But it's what I have. The autofocus is beyond terrible. It doesn't seem to matter what the hell I do I can never get this thing to focus consistently or accurately. What is the best settings / way to get this camera to

Questions about s5iix

Moire shows up now and then on my Lumix cameras, but it’s not just a Lumix issue. I saw moire back when I shot on Sony. I’ve owned the Sony A7SII, A7II, A7RII, A7III, and A7IV, and they all had minor moire problems as well. There are third-party fixes like the Kolari OLPF clip-in filter, but honestl

A Year of Travel with 15 Pro Max

I have a Fuji XF10 and Sony A7R2. Shooting with my phone is 10x easier and more convenient since I am traveling non-stop and limited on space. The only thing I miss with a proper camera is that 1) images lose quality when zooming and 2) I don't get the same compression effect that I could (especiall

Is it worth selling my Sony gear for Fuji?

I like the a6600/a6400/a6100 sensor well enough, but like a lot of that first gen Sony experience it takes a dialing-in period. a7rii had its ups and downs, but could give the worst results given the right (wrong) situation

Help me choose

I moved from Sony a7r2 to a7r5 for the resolution, autofocus and increased sophistication. The colours let me down and I never felt the camera saw what I saw. Moved to X2D2 and haven't regretted it - images are great SOOC. If you have iPhone, it's better - paired with iPhone, x2d2 has improved ibis.

What is it with Nikon and Social Media

They weren't the only ones who's early mirrorless sucked. I had a Sony A7RII and the only thing that didn't suck about it was the dynamic range. The highlight recovery was insane, I wish Nikon could do better in that regard.

TG-7 vs A7Rii

For strobes, the best bang for the buck is the macro backscatter miniflash. For Sony, the best for macro is the new 100mm F2.8 Gm Macro, replacing the prior champion 90mm GM. The Reality is that the TG7 can do more than the A7RII, as it needs to be set up for one style versus many with the TG7.
