Hobbies have too much depth now
I 2nd this. Buy an old Sony Nex or Fuji mirrorless and slap a vintage Nikon or Canon MF lens on it from the 70s-80s via a $9 adapter. When i bought my A7Rii new a decade ago, I didn't have the money for the 1st party lenses available and so I exclusively used Fujica and Minolta SR mount lenses for t

Bought an MD Rokkor 50mm 1.2 recently. A lot softer than I anticipated. Pretty sharp. I prefer the mc rokkor 1.4 i have over this but still love it nonetheless. Swipe for samples.
I have an MD 50mm f/1.2 and its plenty sharp when used on my Sony a7R II: https://flic.kr/p/2njCnmj

Anyone Switch From an A7IV to a Z6III or Z8?
I have beaten this drum to death by now but I went A7R2 -> Z7II w/Viltrox E-Z for about 4 months. Mid June sold the Z7II for a Z8. I shared your sentiment for disdain towards spending a metric ton just to shoot decent FPS on Sony, not to mention CFe A vs B. Ultimately it was a mix of that, having to

No more DLSR scans for me!
I had several film scanners in the past - among them a Nikon Coolscan 8000, a Reflecta MF5000 and last but definitely not least an Imacon Flextight 646 (good old times around 2010, when professionals sold their equipment dirt cheap, because they all switched from film to digital). I sold the Imacon,

Should I sell my X100VI and A7IV for an M240?
You can tell by the responses... It's a very personal thing. I will disagree with people saying the x100 is simply better for street. The M240 will only ever miss a shot if you fuck it up. In my book, that makes it perfect for street. It's all you. I've been on the M240 for years. Other cameras come

If the rumours are true and Leica is making its own sensor for the M12..(aka M10-R), that’s a game changer.
The Sony A7RII and Leica SL were released the same year, 2015. The Leica SL has a maximum DR of ~13.1 stops at ISO 50, vs 13.3 for the A7RII. This is very competitive at low ISO. The trouble arises once you get out of the low ISO band and into the "we actually take pictures here" region -- ISO 400 t

Blue Heron at Sunset in Sequoia Hills
Sony a7rii with a canon 200-400mm zoom lens. It's a beast to lug around with the adapter but I love the extra reach on the zoom.

Tell Us What You Think About Your M EV1!
I own a handful of cameras. Next to Leicas M2 and M5 also Nikon F2AS, Hasselblad 501CM, Rolleiflex 3.5E and a ShenHao 4x5. My only digital camera (next to my cell phone), is a Sony from the A7RII. I have not used the Sony for real photography for two or three years, it has been demoted to film scann

Nikon Z5ii or Z6ii
I've had the Z7ii and Z8 for an equal amount of time this year by now. The previous generations AF is fine for most non fast moving stuff but the way the new gen AF works is just different. It's so much more reactive and sticky that its hard to put into words. Expeed6 gets an awful lot of slack and
