I have beaten this drum to death by now but I went A7R2 -> Z7II w/Viltrox E-Z for about 4 months. Mid June sold the Z7II for a Z8. I shared your sentiment for disdain towards spending a metric ton just to shoot decent FPS on Sony, not to mention CFe A vs B. Ultimately it was a mix of that, having to

Any answer will be full of assumptions. What i would say is Sigma is known to make lenses for first parties, including weather sealed ones so they are not new to this. They are of course not ip rated. The 20-200 does have gaskets at all ingress points including the mount so so it is fully sealed. Ho

I mainly shoot portrait/fashion + landscape (during travels), but recently I started trying my hands on bird photography with my GFX 100s II. It's not a good experience, I mean I can shoot stationary or slow moving birds, but the AF is just not very responsive and bad accuracy in high speed and high

Neither is going to just get you that. I mean both can get you eye details and such sure... But the focal depth is razor thin. What you posted is stacked. Get the Sony if you plan to run about snapping bugs on the go. AF and IS make quick shots much easier. A top flash with diffuser will let you sto

pixel area almost doesn't matter, sensor technology matters way way way more that's why 48mpx sony a7s iii can be marketed as 12 and people don't care (it's using quad bayer, like phones, but advertises resolution after downsampling, since you can't pull full res photos from it)... and also why sony

I have the S1R as well as a G8 (as well as the S5). I use the S1R pretty much exclusively at ISO 100 for landscapes. And at ISO 100 the DR is quite good. It is not quite as good as the 42mp sony sensors (a7r2 and a7r3), but the difference is marginal and not i real use not a point of concern IMO (ma

Another fun example of this , the Sony A99ii has the exact same 42 megapixel sensor as the A7R2. This means the A7, A7ii, A9 and A9ii all have a worse sensor than the last Sony DSLR.
