Hobbies have too much depth now

I 2nd this. Buy an old Sony Nex or Fuji mirrorless and slap a vintage Nikon or Canon MF lens on it from the 70s-80s via a $9 adapter. When i bought my A7Rii new a decade ago, I didn't have the money for the 1st party lenses available and so I exclusively used Fujica and Minolta SR mount lenses for t

Is Sony color that bad?

No. Frankly I prefer the colour I've seen from the recent Sonys to that from the Canons. I find Canon is always biasing warm, while the better Sonys just have a healthy colour, without being biased. There was an era of Sony where colour was iffy, the a7rii in particular, but that was 11 years ago no

Bought an MD Rokkor 50mm 1.2 recently. A lot softer than I anticipated. Pretty sharp. I prefer the mc rokkor 1.4 i have over this but still love it nonetheless. Swipe for samples.

I have an MD 50mm f/1.2 and its plenty sharp when used on my Sony a7R II: https://flic.kr/p/2njCnmj

Philadelphia snow day

Thanks. I use the Sony A7RII with 24-70 lens usually, and more recently the Fuji X100VI. Both Sony batteries died within the first hour of shooting so this set is a mix of both cameras.

Anyone Switch From an A7IV to a Z6III or Z8?

I have beaten this drum to death by now but I went A7R2 -> Z7II w/Viltrox E-Z for about 4 months. Mid June sold the Z7II for a Z8. I shared your sentiment for disdain towards spending a metric ton just to shoot decent FPS on Sony, not to mention CFe A vs B. Ultimately it was a mix of that, having to

Settings for Capture One to Manually Control Focus

Oof.. it’s been a long time since I’ve tethered a Sony, but I remember a lot of things for live view not working with them. I don’t believe Sony’s can do that in C1. Has to be a Nikon, Canon, or a Phase. (I don’t know about L mount stuff) Same went for punching into the live view feed to see 1:1, yo

Who needs a retro aesthetic when you can have 2010s wedding photographer aesthetic

I'll never sell my D750, one of the few cameras I bought new. I even found a 2nd one for €550 with the 85mm f1.8 and Sigma 35mm f1.4 (a bit broken but working). I bought a Sony A7RII but that broke after like 2 years, Nikon are just more durable. When the 2nd hand prices come down for the Z8, I migh

Summer every day carry

Using the magnify button to punch in for focus helps, One of the benefits of mirrorless is you can get cheap adapters and very cheap quality lenses. I use my E-PL1 with old Prakita/Pentacon lenses, Have not spent more than £30 on a lens, 28mm 2.8, 50mm 1.8 and 135mm 2.8. Its a cost effective way to

The skin on Z6

My Sony a7rII skin has completely disintegrated a few years ago. I've heard similar stories about Canon bodies too.
