Do you regret selling your once beloved camera?

No. It’s just stuff. Digital cameras are meant to be replaced. I have a bunch of analog cameras I hold more dear to. But if I need to get rid of it to pay bills, then off it goes. Most cameras that the average person has is just a mass produced tool, you can always get another one. It’s not a 1/50 L

Is it normal for an (admittedly very used) Sony A7S motherboard to have components that looks that heated up ?

Sony mirrorless were infamous for overheating, the a6000 series especially, but the A7 series wasn't spared either. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what most professionally used ones looked like on the pcb.

'Foto-Freitag' für eure Fragen und Antworten

Ich habe im Studium viel mit Sony Kameras gearbeitet (a6000, A7, FX3) und mein Fazit war bei der Marke immer „Technisch gut (auf dem Datenblatt - aber macht null Spaß zu benutzen. Schreckliche Menüs und furchtbare Ergonomie.“ Bin nun fast 10 Jahre mit Fuji unterwegs und nutze das System auch berufli

1 month of birding

I found a really good used deal on an a7iv after the a6000 I used for years as webcam, crapped out on my 4th outing with it. Some of these are with a tamron 50-300, and others(the last few) are with a sony 200-600 im renting for a couple of weeks through this migration season.

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

I had an a6000 for 10 years before switching to an OM-5 mk.II last year, best decision ever. To be honest, most of the 10 years I had the a6000 I was in a photography "hiatus" because of mainly personal reasons but, when I decided to start taking pictures again last year, I started struggling again

New S5D - Strange noises

I have put it on a tripod, on a flat table and it still makes that sound. Guess I’ll return it. My Sony a6000 produces sharper images as well. Tried taking photos of text in a well lit environment and the photos from the lumix always produce blurry outline on the text.

Is there anyone who has used both Sony and Olympus cameras?

Considering the specs and features, I would compare the a6700 to the OM-3, not the OM-5. The OM-3 costs more but has a fully-stacked sensor, it's a bit larger than the Sony but weighs the same. The Sigma 18-50 is not comparable to the Oly/OM 12-40 f2.8. The Sigma's focal length starts at 28mm equiva

Who's still using Lumix s5 in 2025? Hands up 🙌

Same here! How do you find the images? I am coming from a Sony a6000 and find the images really dull. My camera also makes a whirring sound almost like a coil whine when powered on, is this something you have noticed on your camera?

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! March 27, 2026

Hi everyone! I am in the market to buy my first camera. I am currently debating between buying a new Sony A6100 or a Canon RP (open to suggestions for others). Here is what I am looking for: something light and small enough to bring with me hiking and travelling (I live in British Columbia and trave
