Hands on with the RED Raptor XE this week - AMA!
Terrible at taking photos, 0/10. The Sony A6000 beats this thing any day of the week.

Do you regret selling your once beloved camera?
No. It’s just stuff. Digital cameras are meant to be replaced. I have a bunch of analog cameras I hold more dear to. But if I need to get rid of it to pay bills, then off it goes. Most cameras that the average person has is just a mass produced tool, you can always get another one. It’s not a 1/50 L

Is this a good deal and good starter camera?
Honestly for $700 I would skip that and get something mirrorless. Camera gear is something I think is wise to buy used, because when it's time to upgrade, you don't lose your ass. For your purposes, especially the low light activities, I'd say grab a Sony A7 ii ($500-700ish) or A7 iii body ($700-$10

The problem IS the price. (rant)
Honestly the GR imo was never meant as an entry level camera. A used Sony a6000, Fuji X-T20 or even an R50 and anything along those lines are better to learn on, more intuitive, and versatile for someone trying to experiment and find their style.

anyone else think the fujifilm camera naming is a shitshow?
The Sony Aps-c naming convention is awful but it works like this: Entry level: a6000 (2014) replaced by a6100 (2019) Midrange: a6300 (2016) replaced by a6400 (2019) Enthusiast: a6500 (2016) replaced by a6600 (2019) One aps-c to rule them all: a6700 (2023) That’s how you get an a6400 that’s newer tha

Hilfe bei meiner ersten Kamerawahl
400€ reichen locker. Für den Anfang reicht doch zb auch eine Sony a6000. Schau mal bei Kleinanzeigen und kaufe etwas gebrauchtes mit Objektiv. Aber immer zum abholen und ausprobieren.

I’m a birder and want to take clearer photos than this; any camera suggestions?
You might have to push your budget a little, a used Sony a6000 & 55-210 for around £350-400. This will give you much better quality images.

Should I switch Cameras before it's too late?
Be informed Not influenced. Saying point blank “Sonys are better than Canons” is fanboyism at best, stupidity at worst. Yes, of course an a6700 is better than an r50, because the corresponding model to an a6700 is an r7, not an r50. Compare an r50 against other entry models, a6000 and a6100, you mig

What cheap, compact camera should I get as a reporter?
At that price, you’re still better off using your phone or upgrading your phone, unless you wanted to go the used mirrorless route. The other option, if you wanted to spend just a little more, would be, to get a used compact mirrorless camera but skip the kit lens and find a cheap smaller (but bette

Paul and Morgan are selling their camera 👀👀👀 let’s speculate
Those sonys are good cameras. I’ve had the a6000 since 2018 or so, and it’s such a workhorse. That said, I prefer the 30mm sigma lens, but I’m more often doing landscape and travel photography, not vlogging.
