Do you regret selling your once beloved camera?
No. It’s just stuff. Digital cameras are meant to be replaced. I have a bunch of analog cameras I hold more dear to. But if I need to get rid of it to pay bills, then off it goes. Most cameras that the average person has is just a mass produced tool, you can always get another one. It’s not a 1/50 L

anyone else think the fujifilm camera naming is a shitshow?
The Sony Aps-c naming convention is awful but it works like this: Entry level: a6000 (2014) replaced by a6100 (2019) Midrange: a6300 (2016) replaced by a6400 (2019) Enthusiast: a6500 (2016) replaced by a6600 (2019) One aps-c to rule them all: a6700 (2023) That’s how you get an a6400 that’s newer tha

Is it normal for an (admittedly very used) Sony A7S motherboard to have components that looks that heated up ?
Sony mirrorless were infamous for overheating, the a6000 series especially, but the A7 series wasn't spared either. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what most professionally used ones looked like on the pcb.

Why are so many APS-C fans on this sub?
the main reason I steer people away from APS-C is that , other than Fuji, which I do recommend, the other manufacturers treat it as just an entry point to their FF cameras. The lens catalogue for Nikon,Canon and Sony native APS-C lenses tends to be much smaller and lower quality, they just have the

Should I switch Cameras before it's too late?
As a Sony shooter, my advice is to pay close attention to those telling you that Sony is better than Canon at car photography. Note their names, and unsubscribe from their youtube channels and instagram feeds because they are full of shit and their advice is questionable. And certainly, selling an R

First camera experience ruined 🥲 What do i do now?
For the stuck pixels, you can usually shift a Sony camera's date a few months into the future and turn the camera off/on. That will do pixel mapping. Then switch the camera back to the current date. Sadly Sony didn't add an easily accessable feature to do this when you want on a6000 era cameras.

'Foto-Freitag' für eure Fragen und Antworten
Ich habe im Studium viel mit Sony Kameras gearbeitet (a6000, A7, FX3) und mein Fazit war bei der Marke immer „Technisch gut (auf dem Datenblatt - aber macht null Spaß zu benutzen. Schreckliche Menüs und furchtbare Ergonomie.“ Bin nun fast 10 Jahre mit Fuji unterwegs und nutze das System auch berufli

Recommendation for good zoom lenses?
That's the correct answer. The Sony 70-350G has OSS which is quite useful since the a6000 doesn't have in-body-stabilisation. Of course, that point doesn't matter if you only use a tripod for your photos, but for hand-held shots it's important.

1 month of birding
I found a really good used deal on an a7iv after the a6000 I used for years as webcam, crapped out on my 4th outing with it. Some of these are with a tamron 50-300, and others(the last few) are with a sony 200-600 im renting for a couple of weeks through this migration season.

Should I switch cameras before it’s too late?
Almost all of the car/motorsports photographers I know are on Canon or Nikon, to be honest I don’t think the brand is relevant at all, it’s mostly the glass you use coupled to your eyes/skill, I don’t think you’re currently limited by your gear (apart from the lens I mean), and if you are, a Sony a6
