Did unraid report any smart data error, or did the it die out of the blue? How many TBs of r/w had it gone through before it died? I recently purchased a 990 evo plus and this is making me worried

This prompted me to check which of my SSDs actual have DRAM. I have an Intel 660p 1tb, Samsung 970 evo 2tb, Samsung 870 4tb and a Samsung 990 evo plus 2tb. All ranging across different technology and generations, and yet the only one to not have DRAM is the 990, which is also the newest and the most

Hey, I just completed the assembly of my DIY AMD Ryzen™ 7 7840U setup and the quite painful process of installing Windows 11. I want to share my story with you.
I have used Samsung SSDs for a long time, basically replacing the stock drives on all my previous laptops with them. Samsung provides a ve

You can get a 2tb 990 evo plus at $120-130. Why spend nearly 60% more for it ?

I wonder why the load times on SSD are still impacted when random access is fast random reads on regular nand haven't improved much in the past nearly 10 years now. An Intel Optane PCIe 3.0 x2 SSD still has nearly triple the RND4K QT1T performance of a PCIe 4.0 x4 Samsung 990 Pro despite the 990 Pro

I have both a 970 evo plus and 990 evo plus, and their is absolutely no difference in gaming. I wouldn't bother unless you just need more storage space.

Oh my. Off the shelf products are very expensive For good reason. 8 x SAMSUNG MZ-V9S4T0 990 Evo Plus 4TB If you could write to those at line rate (2 x 100Gbps), they'd be full in 20 minutes. There's a lot of bottle necks you need to cater for - at a minimum, disk sustained write speeds, bus speeds,
