SSD prices have tripled in 3 years
In 2023 there was a surplus of SSDs and were very cheap. Took advantage to buy a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB for around $60. It isn't available anymore, but I bet it'll cost over $200 if it was today. AI ruined everything.

SSD Pros pleas Help!! Is my SSD Dying??
The ones before 2023 on samsung 128l TLC NAND node had similar failure, they start dieing even though almost no wear on them. The sam failure was observed on 980, and 970 Evo Plus, and some of the 980 pro. And the 870 Evo 2TB and 4TB were especially bad, many have failed in similar way like this one

Leaving GitHub for private repos
I went from ESXi to proxmox to get around some of the limitations of what was then the free-tier license of ESXi. I know xcp exists and is probably great software, but proxmox has literally never given me a reason to want to switch. My setup is more home-server than home-lab, I do use the services I

M.2 going kaput after 4 years?
samsung evo drives have a well known specific bug that causes them to go into read only mode. if you apply the fix before they go bad, you can save them. once they break, theyre done. guessing this is related. https://nascompares.com/2023/02/02/samsung-980-pro-970-evo-plus-pm9a1-and-more-reporting-f

BAD PERFORMANCE GAMING PC
It's that shitty ssd again. Samsung NEEDS to do a firmware fix on the 970 evo plus drives just like they did for the 980 pro nvme... the Very same issue exists on both drives but only the 980 pro has been given the fix...The issue is the turbowrite slc cache becomes exhausted and does Not refresh it

Lian Li A4-H2O Air Flow Question
No worries. Regarding your worry with airflow, is the SSD under the mobo heatsink or is the one of concern on the back of the mobo? Personally I have never had a problem with SSD temps (as long as it's under a heatsink) or RAM temps in any of the dozens+ of builds I've put together, even the thermal

yeah I tried that, I first had my FH6 game installed on a SATA SSD, I'm now running it from a NVME M.2 PCI gen 3 drive (Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB) and it didn't solve the problem

OCLP on MacBook Pro 15'' mid 2014 and SSD upgrade.
Here is a megathread on Macrumors about NVMe SSD replacements: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/upgrading-2013-2015-macbook-pro-ssd-to-m-2-nvme.2034976/ I have seen issues with Samsungs, the Hackintosh side of Open Core does not recommend it without updating the firmware see here: https://dortan
