Extra Storage
I did a 1TB 3 years ago that has been working well: Samsung 870 EVO SATA III SSD 1TB 2.5” Internal Solid State Drive. Unfortunately the price for this thing went from $67 to over $400 now which sucks. You will start getting comparability issues with anything over a TB. I tried a couple bigger than t

Recommendations for SATA drive storage ($300-$700)
For that budget you can get way more than 4tb, don't waste it on a tiny SATA SSD. The 24tb recertified drives you're seeing are probably enterprise HDDs, they're loud, not really meant for a desktop sitting next to you. If you're set on SATA, just grab a Samsung 870 EVO in 4tb and call it a day, the

considering to run a full node, but what me concern is the longevity of a common ssd sata 2tb, how long it will keep running before it dies ? What are yours experience about it ?
5+ years easy on a decent TLC ssd. avoid QLC drives, samsung 870 evo type stuff is solid. backup your seed though, drive matters less than that

BUYING A PS4 PRO IN 2026
I have 3 PS4 Pro all with 4TB Samsung 870 Evo and several PS5s and 2 PS5 Pro and while there is a small difference it's definitely NOT worth the Money especially now when SSDs are 3 times the price and you can't even buy a good SSD like Samsung Evo 870 hell you can't even buy QVO most 2.5inc SSD mad

Kingston NV3 1TB SSD for sale
How are you down to 91% in 8 months? I have an 870 EVO bought back in 2021, still sitting at 94%. 🤔

Unsure whether to go with the H500 or whether I'd be throwing money away.
The worry about SSD wear out isnt true. If you buy a quality first-party SSD it will list it's write endurance rating. 1200TBW for a 2TB Samsung 870 EVO will likely last you more than 5 years before the RATING is exhausted. I have a couple of SATA SSDs that show 0% flash health, but have not retired

Cheap ssd for unvr
Been using SA500, 860/870 EVO, and enterprise class like Intel D3 in NAS and NVR for years, no issues. Have completely moved away from HDDs. Just get one with 2500 TBW or more and will be fine. Can still find them for good price on eBay used or Walmart recently had 4tb 870 Evo for $278 new. Also bou

PS3 crashed mid game to safe mode
SSDs can have issues in a PS3, but saying they corrupt just because PS3 doesn’t support TRIM is a bit too simple. TRIM isn’t supported, true, but decent SSDs like Samsung EVOs have internal garbage collection and wear leveling. Lack of TRIM is more of a long-term performance/maintenance concern than

DD4G0 - 960GB Sata SSD
Agreed, unless there is some monitoring/sensor stuff that would vendor lock you just buy regular consumer/prosumer drives. 870 Evo 4TB has 2400TBW rating. Sure, that is a lot less than Enterprise drives, but it is still a lot.

Samsung 870 EVO sees another ~50% price increase shortly after they already increased prices 100% on Samsung.com!
I used to use a $60 1tb PNY sata ssd in my budget gaming laptop for storing games and it died in less than 2 years, and both everyone on the internet and my friends said Samsung's 870 EVO is the only high quality sata drive with good longevity anymore so thats what I replaced it with even though the
