Help with Setting Up WiresDoorbell
You won't be able to connect a NEST directly to ethernet. It's power over Ethernet.(POE) It doesn't contain the voltage required to power the nest doorbell. On the plus side, POE doorbells are almost considered a luxury as you typically don't need a subscription to access your saved recording. Check

PoE Doorbell Recs Please!
Reolink is what you want, although it's frustrating that there are not really that many PoE doorbells worth a damn

Looking for a simple, no subscription video doorbell
I love my Reolink POE doorbell. Totally worth the hassle of running an Ethernet cable and installing a POE injector. It could also run off of existing doorbell wiring, but I had an old transformer that didn't have enough power for a smart doorbell. Plus, my WiFi router is all the way across the hous

Doorbell not powering on?
If you are talking about the Reolink 2K+ Wi-Fi doorbell, they aren't PoE. They need a power source seperate from the ethernet connection.https://reolink.com/us/product/reolink-video-doorbell-wifi/#specifications You would want to get the PoE version:https://reolink.com/product/reolink-video-doorbell

Doorbell/Cameras/wifi security, dumb it down for me
Throw that ring crap to the trash. Get yourself a PoE camera system. Yes, you will have to drill a couple of holes and pass a couple of cables. It is extremely worth doing. No, you can't get a decent one for $300. You could get a cheap bundle/kit for $400 or so but you don't want to do that either.

Any news on compatibility with Reolink?
Of the 14 cameras I’m running with Frigate the POE Doorbell from Reolink is the worst. Like other posters have mentioned, it has very poor configuration options, and the sub stream resolution is very low. I’ve also had mine lock up and require reboots a couple times in the two years I’ve been runnin

Looking for a new security system
The brands to go with if you are a beginner: Reolink or Ubiquiti Tech savvy if you are very familiar with cameras: Dahua or Hikvision (or rebrands of these) You want doorbell, the best one is Ubiquiti G6 pro entry > Ubiquiti G6 Entry > Reolink PoE doorbell. Only the Reolink PoE one can be used with

Suggestions for doorbell cameras?
Reolink POE doorbell, it records 24/7 locally both on the doorbell and local NVR storage and free with no subscription. I also have euphy cameras as a backup but none are on par with reolink. For the POE Version, it's powered by a single network cable.

Ring doorbell alternatives without monthly fee?
I have a Reolink PoE doorbell and it's a massive upgrade over the blink it replaced. Just a single cable through the wall for power and data, it's constantly powered so no batteries to replace and being hardwired to the network (not WiFi) there is very little delay. I have a micro SD card in the doo
