Exactly my user case too! For all things sports related, I just swap on my Polar Ignite 3 instead of the Loop.

I bought mine via ebay from protectionfilms24, "Protector Full-Cover for Polar Ignite 3 Curved Screen Edge Protection Film". It has notches but they don't bother me. And I swim with my watch, the screen shield is still on it's place. ☺️

I have the Ignite 3, doesn't feel chunky and while not the most advanced Polar watch, I find it has everything I personally want :)
