Why T-Rex line even exists?
You could ask the same of any of the high end watches - Coros Vertix, Polar Grit X, Suunto Vertical etc. Generally speaking, build quality is what tends to set them apart, along with higher battery life. For the T-Rex 3 Pro, you do get more battery, titanium and a more rugged build and the LED light

Early Christmas Gift!
Excellent choice. I have the Polar Grit X2 Pro. Excellent brand. Very good quality. This is the brand with the best data accuracy 📈 heart and sleep. I use the Polar H10 only in cycling and VMA or vameval test mode (in France 🇫🇷). I wish you lots of fun in your outings 😃

What's the typical lifespan for Polar watches?
Polar Grit X Pro: 4 years, daily use. The sensor started to get unreliable, the screen got dimmer, some buttons started to stick... It was just time to retire the watch.

What's the typical lifespan for Polar watches?
I had a Polar Grit X that lasted 4,5 years. (well the touch screen gave up a bit earlier, and also the buttons were getting difficult to use). (at the time I bought it, it was 430 euros)

Polar Grit X2 or Suunto Race?
If your priority is guidance and long-term progress, go Polar Grit X2. • Coaching built in: FitSpark, Running Program, Cardio Load, Nightly Recharge. It turns data into day-to-day plans and tracks load over time. • Stronger analytics: Polar Flow’s web dashboard is dated visually but excellent for tr

How Long Does Your Watch Last?
My polar grit x is almost 5 years old and still working well. The battery doesn't last as long as it used to, but it's still enough. I'll probably swap out in the new year

Alternative to Garmin Fenix?
Maybeeeeee Polar Grit x2 (basic or pro variant), and it's a maybe because while the watch itself is fine IMO, the software behind it is kinda clunky and outdated, but you can find a used one for like 200 euro in good condition. Personally I only really like Polar because its a European company and I

Grit X2 Pro vs Suunto...
I think a useful feature for me would be Climbpro - and I see Suunto has Climb Guidance. Does that effectively mean the following tradeoffs - or is there anything I'm missing? Thanks - Suunto Vertical 2 titanium - best battery (by some distance), Climb Guidance, ok app/mapping, potential data privac

Watch restarted during race why??
Had the same thing with my Suunto 9. It occurred more often after that and then the battery died. I also had the same on my Polar Grit X. But there it turned out a button was a little stuck.
