You can only answer this for yourself. Verse Pro indeed has an older screen tech, so the contrast is lower compared to the Kobo Clara BW. Consider also PocketBook Era or InkPad 4. They allow uploading books using USB and File Explorer, or with internet options. They are a bit slow though.

I don't know what to say. I have it and really like it, but I also prefer the PocketBook OS over the Kobo OS (which could be different for you). Without any more detailed questions, the InkPad 4 has a glass front instead of a plastic front (slightly more reflections than a device with plastic front)
