Undecided about buying a Verse Pro
You can only answer this for yourself. Verse Pro indeed has an older screen tech, so the contrast is lower compared to the Kobo Clara BW. But you (likely) don't have a Kobo Clara BW, so against what will you compare it without also having a Kobo Clara BW? You can only decide for yourself how importa

Help choosing an e-reader (8″ / ~7.8″)
The main problem regarding this comparison is that there are possibly not enough users out there who have both devices. I own a InkPad 4, but can't tell you anything about how different the screens are (in theory they are the same, so Carta 1200, but Kobo seems to be better in handling the panels -

Stuck deciding between the Kobo Clara BW and the PocketBook Verse Pro
I had the same doubt when I was searching for a 6". Unlike some comments here, after trying I found the PB hardware much better (lovely built, great shape, weight, buttons). After having two Kobo Clara BW crashing on me... and because I already owned a PocketBook InkPad 4 (7.8") that I love to piece

Guys which one for technical books?
The only PocketBook device which could be recommended is the new PocketBook One because of its size (10"). Outside of this, and especially if you are serious about this, the biggest Onyx Boox device you can afford, but at least 10" (the only one I have seen positive review of, and could recommend be

How many hours of basic reading does your e-reader battery last?
Don't know. I don't track daily usage, and I charge so rarely that I ultimately can't tell how often I charge my device. But my PocketBook InkPad 4 (b&w, so usually no usage of light) should definitely last around 4 weeks. Like most non-Android black & white devices do I guess (maybe except the Kobo

Stuck deciding between the Kobo Clara BW and the PocketBook Verse Pro
If you want the best contrast, the Kobo Clara BW is better (visible in direct comparison). Verse Pro is stuck at Carta 1000 and the Clara has Carta 1300 (PocketBook Era btw. has Carta 1200 & an inbuilt speaker, also buttons on the side and isn't that much more expensive than the Verse Pro). PocketBo

I need your help to finally replace my kindle!
Regarding Kobo: the problem is that the only fitting device for your needs would be the Clara BW (which doesn't have buttons, but is still a decent device nonetheless). The Libra 2 is discontinued, you only get the 7" Libra Colour at that size, and the Sage - while having buttons and is b/w - is way

Is an InkPad 4 the best option for b&w epub and manga?
Your only other choice outside of Android is a Kobo Sage, which has a rather small battery and may not be produced anymore by Kobo (could still be available new). It's likely faster than the InkPad 4 - on the other hand does PocketBook have a decent PDF support, Kobo somewhat lacks this. I would say

booting off / sleep mode on pocketbook verse
Don't overestimate the capabilities of PocketBook, no matter how simple something seems. Two examples to understand what I mean: The - what I call Libby-update - arrived around two month ago on my InkPad 4. It arrived last weak on my Era. PocketBook has for the most part 3 devices to manage: the Ver

Is Inkpad Eo for 250€ worth?
I guess it's already rare that people even have one Android PocketBook, a person that has two of them (to be able to compare them) should be a statistical anomaly; iirc I stumbled over owners of a single PocketBook Android device maybe around 3 times in the last 12 months - you are possibly one of t
