Pocketbook Basic Lux 4 vs Verse

They are quite similar but the Verse is only slightly better. The Verse has USB-C, warm light, a bigger battery, which the Basic Lux 4 doesn't have. However, the Verse is also much heavier. This great site breaks down the differences: https://comparisontabl.es/e-readers/?product1=PocketBook+Basic+Lu

budget ereader advice: pocketbook basic lux 4?

I don't know how "blue" the light on the Basic Lux is, but I guess not that blue since you can't change colour temperature (just a guess). The standard Verse can adjust colour temperature, and since you can keep an ereader for years, whatever you pay more will in the long run be not even that much.

Any budget ereader recommendations? I am on a fixed income and love to read so I'm looking to get one.

Maybe the Basic Lux 4 from PocketBook, if you can find it. It's the predecessor of the PocketBook Verse, the only differences are afaik different buttons and a Micro USB port instead of USB-C. There's also the PocketBook Verse Lite (which I wouldn't recommend because of lower battery capacity, no po

budget ereader advice: pocketbook basic lux 4?

Do you need buttons? If not, I suggest also considering the Pocketbook Verse Lite. I made a post recently about it. Yes, Pocketbook has a browser so you can access internet on it. As for fan fiction, you might need something with more speed. A secondhand Kobo will likely help with that. Edit: How do

Looking for a reliable and future-proof Ereader

The most important missing feature on the Basic Lux 4 would be no colour temperature regulation for when reading at night. It's basically a slightly different designed PocketBook Verse without night light & USB-C. KOReader is very easy to install on a PocketBooks. Then there's the Tolino Shine, whic

Ereader with dictionary capabilities?

To further worsen (or slightly better) your choice paralysis, the only devices which don't come with warm light capabilities are the Kindle Basic, the PocketBook Verse Lite & the Verse Basic Lux 4 (all 6"). Dictionary support should be standard in any case. Besides this, you can look for any 6" - 7

Is there anything out there like the Kobo clara bw but with buttons?

PocketBook Verse Pro is your answer. If you are willing to sacrifice a bit of sharpness, you can also look into the cheaper Verse (a slightly better Basic Lux 4 because it has warm light, but different types of buttons than the Lux). But the Pro is also waterproof and supports tts and audiobooks via

Why doesn't any company make a real barebones e-reader?

i was on this same wavelength a while back. the issue is margins - a stripped down model barely costs less to make but sells for way less, so companies skip it. the closest i found that hits your marks (no light/touch/wifi) is the PocketBook Basic Lux 4. it has physical buttons, no touch, and you ca
