Is it possible to build a better "Steam Machine" for the same price?
In the volume? No. With 3.8L you are not going to be able to build anything with off-the-shelf components. If we start looking at ~10L, yes that is probably doable with normal components. Edit; I threw together a quick build in the 11.45L Silverstone Sugo 13. Quite a bit bigger but I think this is t

Help me with my proposed build
I would suggest spending less on the CPU, more on the GPU. The below steps down to a 9600X CPU, which will still provide good gaming performance for far less, while upgrading the GPU to a far far better 9070, for about the same overall cost. Also made some other minor improvements. CPU: The 9600X is

First time builder - finalizing my list
A few suggestions to upgrade the CPU (for gaming) plus some other minor improvements for about the same price. CPU: The 7600X3D will provide better gaming performance than the 9600X. CPU Cooler: The Phantom Spirit provides slightly better cooling performance than the Peerless Assassin, for less cost

Some of the components - like the RAM and the GPU - are very expensive, more expensive than some better spec components. Suggestions below to upgrade the CPU to a 7800X3D and the GPU to a 9070 XT, plus some other minor improvements for only about $35 more. CPU: The 7800X3D is a better gaming CPU - o

Build help please

Suggestions below that make a few improvements to the list (beyond the same components but from other retailers) while cutting about £140 from the total cost. • CPU Cooler: It’s a little more expensive but much bette

Is this build worth it?
You do need a CPU cooler. Case fans only provide airflow; a CPU cooler is needed to cool the CPU itself (directly contacting the CPU and pulling away heat). You can get more for less as you're overspending on some compoennts. Suggestions below that provides double the storage (plus better spec) and

First ever build - Gaming/Programming PC - USA - $2,000 budget
A few suggestions to get a very good gaming pc (with a 9800X3D and 5070 Ti) in a white case, for $1708 pre-tax; with a 27" 1440p 240hz monitor, it comes to $1928 pre-tax. The CPU, motherboard, and RAM are a bundle from Micro Center. CPU/Motherboard/RAM: The 9800X3D is the best gaming CPU available.
