HELP, Ram and ssd old laptop

https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE72-2QD-Apache-Pro/Specification says: DDR3L,up to 1600 MHz, slot *2, max 16GB The outer two M.2 slots support only SATA, the middle one supports both SATA and NVMe. Some good, cheap drives would be the Patriot P310 240 GB, Patriot P310 480 GB, or Lexar NM620 1 TB.

Is this a good build list

Good list, just slightly unbalanced for the money. The CPU/GPU combo is strong, and the cooler is enough for a 7800X3D. The only parts that stand out are the RAM and SSD. 6000 CL30 EXPO would be safer for AM5 than 6400, and the Patriot P310 is too basic for a $2000 build. A better 2TB Gen4 SSD would

Good For 4K Gaming?

The lower speed of external drives might be measurable, but is probably not noticeable in games. An NVMe drive is much faster than SATA at a better price. Consider the Patriot P310, WD Blue SN580, or Lexar NM620 (all 1 TB, on Amazon).
