Very late to this post! I have the Patagonia Refugio 30L and have only used it for airport travel so far. No issues with it, and I think the specific airlines I used it with were Delta and American Airlines. I always used it as a carry-one, and it fits well underneath the seat. All of that to say...

Update: After a lot of research I decided that the Osprey Nebula was too big for what I would be using it for day to day. A lot of comments even made me consider going into the 18-24L range but ultimately my choice came down to the Osprey Quasar and the Patagonia Refugio. I really enjoyed the fit an
