My new sub bag vs my old sub bag
Mine is a black Patagonia Refugio backpack which is apparently being discontinued or updated: https://www.patagonia.com/product/refugio-daypack-26-liters/47913.html I find it perfect for teaching. Enough room and padded compartment for my personal iPad, chargers, and cables, along with spare pens, r

Recommendations for a everyday commute bag that doubles as a good carry-on pack for travel?
I'm 5ft7 and use a Patagonia Refugio 30L and it is extremely comfortable to carry. The latest model has bungee cords on the front that could easily be removed to make it look less casual. It's not a clamshell but has a reasonably deep opening so it doesn't feel too arduous to grab stuff from the bot

Disappointed by Patagonia’s lifetime (or just 5-year) bag warranty
Try a different store. I had a 15 year old Refugio daypack that was 100% replaced due to delaminating on the inside, in store under the warranty. At that age, id understand if they had refused it but they offered the replacement! At 5 years yeah thats poor quality in my opinion and they should repla

I’ve used a Patagonia Refugio 30L for a minute and I’d say it’s a better option

Etihad to Taiwan - 7kg ONE Bag only
Look at the Patagonia Refugio 30l for a good option for <7kg travel - it’s only 795g and the laptop sleeve is removable so without that it’s even lighter, and it has a sternum strap and decent straps. I think some of the top load Decathlon bags are also fairly lightweight. I would just try not to br

Looking for ‘Everything’ Bag
The Refugio 30 is close to the same size. See if Patagonia will warranty it. REI Ruckpack 30 for an alternative. Patagonia Black Hole 25 or 32 as well.

30L vs 40L bag, help me decide!
40l will be too much for a lot of carry-on options. 30L is what I'll use at most, and still I get stopped to check my bag in a sizer. Especially on Wizz flights. I use a Patagonia Refugio 30, and it fits for multiple weeks of travel. I usually combine it with a tote, or a tote bag If I have a carryo

supposedly skilled guy looking for suggestions for a 14kg "around the world bag"
Fucks sake mate, you're carrying 7 kilos too much stuff. Firstly**, get a smaller 30L backpack** for starters, that weighs no more than 1.2kgs. Even better, get a Patagonia Refugio 30 that weighs 700 grams. Pair it with an osprey packable backpack that weighs 200 odd grams. Your two bags now weigh 900 g
