New to this, new set up
Yes, I'd replace that grinder for a DF54 or even the Encore ESP. I have a similar OXO conical burr grinder but primarily use it for drip, cold brew, etc. It won't work with unpressurized baskets.

Home coffee grinder recommendations
I got this Oxo one: https://www.oxo.com/conical-burr-coffee-grinder.html I saw it recommended somewhere as the cheapest conical burr grinder worth getting. Been using it daily for 6 months and I'm happy with it for my pourover and cold brew, so I'd recommend it.

What am I doing wrong?
I have an OXO conical burr grinder, I think it was $70-$80 ('twas a gift), and it has worked splendidly, though I admit I have little to reference it against. After some casual research, I've found the OXO that I own isn't great for much finer grinds and very course grinds, but for Moka it seems to

Help a newbie
I'm certainly not an expert, maybe people were just telling me my conical burr wasn't good enough and I conflated that to mean most conical burrs weren't good enough. I have the oxo brew conical burr coffee grinder. Worked great for everything besides espresso. It worked ok with a pressurized basket
