EM1X
I don’t like those cameras — I like the E-M1X because I like cameras with an integrated battery grip. Beyond the E-M1X, the only ones I’m interested in are the OM-5 and OM-3 silver color

How did you learn to use your camera properly?
One word: diversify. At this point I have almost no brand loyalty and because of this, I’ve found myself being able to pick up a new camera and being able to immediately use it. The only camera that gave me a run for my money was the E-M1X from OM System, that was a bit of a learning curve. So the l

E-M1X or OM-1 for Macro
The answer to that question isn't quite as easy as one might think. The OM-1 would likely be the right answer for many people, but it depends on how you do your macro. If want to do a lot of single shot images of less-than-cooperative insects, the OM-1 has a leg up. Its AF system is generally faster

Upgrade Question
As your not really in to wildlife I would look at an E-M1 iii, its a great body with decent AF performance, the E-M1X although amongst my favourite MFT bodies is probably going to inhibit you due to its weight. If you could find an original OM-1 for a good price then I would seriously think about on

It's M43 Monday! Ask Us Anything about Micro Four-Thirds Photography - all questions welcome!
The G9ii seems like the logical choice, as long as you can deal with the size of the body. If the body doesn't agree with your hands (the original G9 got into a violent disagreement with me), a used E-M1X (big, but so well thought out that it feels like a much lighter camera), E-M1.3, or OM-1 all ha

E-M1X or OM-1 for Macro
Generally, I think you are better off with newer generation gear, and right now you can get an OM-1 MK I in the US for $1,400. There are no differences between it and the Mk II that would affect macro work. Also, you can add the HLD-10 battery grip to the OM-1 giving you a very similar form factor a

Is M43 Really That Rare? (Discussion)
Curious why you went g7/em1x combo over just getting an OM body? I was coming from having a Panasonic bridge camera and was familiar enough with it, whilst I’d never used an OM camera before. Once I got the G7 though, I realised I was missing the chunkiness factor. I might just sell the G7 and the 1

E-M1X or OM-1 for Macro
OM-1 . If I remember correctly the E-M1X was a precursor to the E-M1 III. It's basically just a E-M1 III + grip with additional features optimized for wildlife shooting. The OM-1 is essentially an E-M1 IV. The OM-1 would have the latest features so that'd be the best camera to use to get the most mo

Yep E-M1X is a beast but I like to have a bit more grip and it’s ergonomics are amazing … plus it’s only OM-D with bird AF
