What's the best bang for your buck, small m43 camera
The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is currently an excellent value purchase ($599 In the states), but the GX9, Gx85 and OM5 have some really useful features. I use a GX1 and OM-D E-M10 Mark ii on trips.

Amateur birder getting into photography
I second this! I also recently got into birding and then just purchased a camera. As a total beginner I got the OM-D E-M10 mark iv body paired with the Olympus 75-300mm II 4.8-6.7 M.Zuiko Lens used. It's definitely an entry level body and lens but I love it. I particularly appreciate that the zoom l

Last camera I owned was bought used in 2011. What's the current camera market look like?
Yeah, not much out there for you pal. I highly recommend you boost that budget up by a couple of 100s, otherwise you'll waste your money on something that just won't get you what you want/need. If you can stretch to $700 this is a pretty good deal on a body and lens combo Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV

Looking to buy an Olympus digital camera as a beginner
I have bought two cameras from these guys and had great experiences: https://usedphotopro.com/olympus-om-d-e-m10-mark-iv-203-mp-mft-digital-camera-body-upo-02-5400-2-bjga36202-c1b6c7f5?srsltid=AfmBOoriu2nwnyZJtW30CmUDGXGG3AMFruNmIhlxavZeH6ecOQZ35rnlkwM That's a body only; you could add a 14-42 for l

How do you think OM SYSTEM could update their cameras to attract more people?
OM System have found their niche in cameras that are made for the outdoors. What they suck at is making compelling budget cameras at a good enough pricepoint. The OM-5ii is nice, but it's not really a budget camera, more like a mid-range body. Their actual entry level offering are cameras from the O

Time to Upgrade from Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV?
Hello!
I recenty purchased an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV in March to dip my toes back into photography (The Wirecutter suggested this model) and am already feeling a little constrained by the camera. The main issue is the contrast autofocus, especailly while doing macro work with the [OM SYSTEM OLY

E-M10iv vs GX85 - why does the GX85 get all the love?
It's kind of a myth. I just upgraded from the E-M10ii to the Mark iv, and the only feature missing is MySets, which I never used. They also took away the ability to customize a couple of the buttons, but they added more functionality to the d-pad. The d-pad now behaves very similarly to the one on t

Advice requested for Panama rainy season.
Your setup is weather sealed, you should be fine. Just keep the lens on at all times unless in a controlled environment or clear weather. Your oldest's lens is weather sealed, but their camera is not, so it won't matter that the lens is sealed. I don't know how rainy this rainy season is, but if it'

First camera recommendation, is Olympus OM-D E-M10 mark IV good to get?
Just got an E-M10 mark IV I bought this week on eBay - pristine, with a sub-1000 shutter count for $390 including tax and shipping. I hemmed and hawed a lot before pulling the trigger... looked hard at the OM5 Mark I and EM5 Mark III and ultimately settled on the EM-10 Mark IV based on weight/size,
