Adjustable Dumbbells - Yay or Nay?
Yay. I’ve had the 80lb Nuobells for around 4 years and I like them. Super quick adjustments. Can’t drop them though.

Adjustable dumbbell recommendations.
I have Nuobells. They are great, but there is a risk of breaking the internal mechanism if you drop them. I used to worry about this a lot, but I've had them for two years and have never had any issues. I would also consider Rep x Pepins and Snode with the magnetic weights to allow for 5lb adjustmen

Switch from Nuobell S5100 to the REP x Pepin
I had the Nuobbell 580s first for 6 months and they feel way better than the Rep x Peppins I got afterward. The cage does get in the way of RDLs and Overhead tricep extension The think handles are nice for pressing kind of, but annoying for rows. They are more compact at higher weights. This is thei

What's worked(ing) for you in 2025?
I finally bought Nuobells adjustable dumbbells, and I can lift properly at home, was great for my fitness. Stoped eating out, because I don’t want to support these insane prices and low quality any more. Was able to save hundreds if not thousands. Bought an espresso machine, so I always have very de

Adjustable Dumbbells - Yay or Nay?
I've got a set of Nuobells I picked up in back in 2021 for ~$900, and they're still going strong. While it's true the Rep x Peppin ones look amazing, I'm not ready to re-invest just yet. There's no way I could fit a full set of fixed dumbbells in the garage given all the other projects happening in

However, if you want to save space/monies go with adjustables. Powerblocks/reppins are very durable/reliable. The ones that mimic dumbbell

Do all adjustable dumbbells suck, or just the cheap ones?

Adjustable dumbbells for garage gym
It kinda depends how heavy you are going. If you only need 50lbs, any on fb market is fine. Even the bowflex ones if you can get it for cheap. If you’re going up to 80lbs I probably recommend snode, mx or trulaps. I have the nuobells which are FANTASTIC but I only love them bc I got it for really ch
