Would you buy a Nook? Why or why not?

People avoid the Nook for a few reasons: Nooks are only available in the US. Technically you can use them outside the US, but you're likely to run into issues with actually purchasing things on it. They do, naturally, work outside the US for reading, but the actual process of buying books is US-cent

Coming back

I love my GlowLight 4! I mostly borrow books from the library. Setting up Adobe Digital Editions to get the epub files from libby onto my nook was a pain, but it was well worth the effort. I love the physical buttons and it's the perfect size for my bag and for the using on the commute

If you could only use one device, what are you picking

My favorite ereader is a Nook Glow Light 4 Plus lmao. 7.8 inches, 4 physical buttons, USB-C, and android 8.1 so you can still run einkbro, koreader, a file manager, etc.

Kindle vs. NOOK book selection: is the difference in really that noticeable?

honestly, if you're comfortable with calibre and sideloading, the library difference is way less noticeable. i went with the Nook GlowLight 4 specifically for those page turn buttons and the ability to pop into a store to preview books. you can grab epubs from other stores or your local library and

Kindle vs kobo vs Nook

TL:DR - Buy the Clara BW Nook Glowlight 4 - Terrific hardware (likely the best of the bunch) but super basic software. Borrowing library books is a hassle. You will NOT be able to store your purchased ebooks anywhere. It is very difficult to download Nook books anymore. Kindle Basic - Basic is in th

Coming back

If you’re looking to get away from Amazon because it’s Amazon, that’s one way to do it. (But you still won’t find the books from KU on Nook.) If you don’t like what Amazon is doing with locking down their ebooks, be aware that B&N has been doing that with their books since 2014. So you won’t be help

Are there any benefits...

There is no benefit to having a NOOK over a Kindle eReader, even if the B&N is 5 minutes from you. The only benefit would be if you decide to sign up for a Barnes & Noble membership (there are 2 tiers: free and $40 paid) to earn stamps. You get 1 stamp for every $10 PRE-TAX spent on B&N items. do i need a nook case?

The GlowLight 4+ cases are now 60% off. There's not too many to choose from, but for $10 you can't go wrong. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/shop-nook-glowlight-4-plus-accessories/_/N-2xz9?Ns=P_Publication_Date%7C1

Looking for a reader easy on the eyes, Nook or Kindle?

I have a Nook Glow Light 4 Plus. It's quite good to use if you're tech saavy and know how to use ADB etc to install apps as it's running a heavily customized version of android 8.1 so you can technically install apps as long as they support 8.1 If you're tech saavy enough I'd definitrly put the nook

General eReader Advice

Nook makes nice hardware. Having page turning buttons is nice. Screen quality on the Glowlight 4 Plus that I have is nice. The adjustable front lighting has been nice. After that is where Nook goes downhill as an e-ink reader. Their software is ANTIQUATED. You will not experience epubs like Apple Bo
