“Low effort” espresso machine that still makes decent espresso?? [$500]
Easiest semi automatic in that price range would probably be the ninja luxe cafe. It grinds, weighs the grounds for you and then has guidance to adjust your shot. All you need to do is tamp really. The easiest semi auto is probably the Breville oracle jet but that's 2k. For anything else you'd want

20g for double shot espresso - is this normal?
Okay, two things, Ninja only recommend Freshly Roasted On date beans. Think of it this way, what the hell did Sam do to get 18 months out of his beans. These things are often lower quality, industrially processed in tonnes to get consistency, but they are stale by the time we get them. Second, Ninja

Picked up a certified refurb from Ninja on eBay for £260, it's brand new never been used.
Here's some practical Ninja Basics I've pulled together over the last year since getting my 701 Pro. Just use the sub-headings that you need time get the best out of it. Espresso is a journey and a hobby that takes time to master. Reddit has an issue with the length of it, so I'll add the second poi

Always overbrews!
It's lengthy, do just find the sub-headings that suit your needs, dip in and out as needed, any other questions just ask. I have to do it in two parts, so the second part will be an answer to this section.*** Ninja's basics For your sanity only use Barista Assist (BA) as a guide to get you close to

One week with the Autobarista
There are two minis : ES301 available today via all retailers & ninja direct & Comimg Soon :ES350 (Plus). The Plus is the more interesting of the two. I am curious if the 60 step grinder with new BA logic & hopefully better volumetric outputs...on "hot" beverages kills the current 601/655/701s. If t

Luxe Cafe Pro and espresso with crema
Water temperature Light Roasts ~198-200°F / 92-93°C (~200-208°F / 93-98°C) Why: Denser cell structure makes them harder to dissolve. (Not recommend on the Ninja) Goal: Use higher temperatures to extract balancing sugars and bright acidity without becoming sour or weak. Medium Roasts ~190-195°F / 88-

Too much output: grind size vs stopping output flow
I think I checked that scale but it was too big, so I ended up with Maestri House Rechargeable Espresso Scale which fits perfectly. So my question: why keep grinding finer rather than just stopping the output when it hits 36g? That's what I do. I am doing ristretto with 1:1 ratio, so I would stop it

☕ “Your Desktop Grinder Feeling Jealous?” Write a Comparison, Win a Free Fino or Claro Scale
Group A I currently own the Ninja Luxe Cafe with a built in grinder. I also own a Outin Nano with double basket and Kingrinder K6 that gets multiple daily uses at work so I would be comparing all grinders with both espresso makers. This would be great test as the Ninja Luxe Cafe grinder rarely gives

☕ “Your Desktop Grinder Feeling Jealous?” Write a Comparison, Win a Free Fino or Claro Scale
Group A I would love to join this event. I currently own a Ninja Luxe cafe and i really enjoy the ease of the weighed grinds. I do find it difficult to have to remove all beans if i have multiple beans i want to try so a separate grinder would be perfect to test.

Defective Luxe Cafe Premier?
In the words of Jim Lovel on Apollo 13, "Houston we have a problem." Little advertised fact, the grinders in these machines, in fact most integrated grinders machines can't handle Light Roasted beans, they are too dense, and if they are grown at high altitude they are even more dense. I walked away
