Make me feel better about my purchase. New Z6ii

The main criticism against the first/second generation of Nikon's mirrorless cameras is that the autofocus has trouble keeping up with fast moving subjects. While this is a fair criticism, it's also nowhere near as bad as people on the internet like to make it out to be. If your primary use cases ar

Switching back to Nikon?

The eye detect issue was fixed in a firmware update a few years ago for the Z6ii. I have only used the Z6ii but would not hesitate to get another Nikon when I get around to upgrading.

Z6 III or Z8? I have the 45MP FOMO but my bank account is in DX mode.

Yeah get the z6iii with the lens zoom!! I have the Nikon 200-500 zoom lens and I rather use that on my z6ii than to crop in! I mostly use it for landscape and random wild life I see . I do also wants the Z8 and I do want it for 8k video since I do both but I rather also get the Z6iii and use it's 6K

Upgrade my gear from Nikon Z6II to Nikon Z8

The Z8 far, far exceeds the Z6ii in almost every way, so I am confident in saying it will be better “in terms of performance and technical features”, since you haven’t actually said what your needs are. AF performance, subject detection, 3D tracking, speed, resolution, controls, video, low latency v

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade?

Yup, I miss my focus motor... Even though the SWM is faster and the new focus mechanism in the Z lenses is even faster than that. I'm amazed at how quickly my Z6II can focus with a modern lens on there, like the relatively cheap 28-70 f/4. (Also, the new Nikon 50mm f/1.4 is amazing, as is the Viltro

What is it with Nikon and Social Media

"But a wedding, god, it's been done for ages with manual focus." Did you just use my argument against yours, against yourself? Do you even read what people put in comments? You're really good at talking completely outside of the conversation. First of all, I never said or implied that it is impossib

Back UP Body Options?

Well, for $1000, you can get a used Z6II in excellent condition. The question is whether or not you want to keep the high pixel count of your camera, which while it does not have the most modern autofocus has one of the best sensors in Nikon's lineup. In that case, the cheapest camera may just be a

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade?

D750 user here! The actual feeling of Nikons iconicDSLRs (D610, D750, D800…) is nowhere to be found on the Z5ii or Z6II. Purely because of ergonomics and the general workflow is completely different. I’ve tried the Z6Ii and I loved it nonetheless. It’s sharp, it’s fast, it feels like a real jump bot

Z6ii loves our snowy lady (+a question)

There is no important downside moving to the 24-120 f4s except price, even more if you are considering the heavier hi-performance Z8 . For a normal zoom with wider range, it is still the top choice. If you go Tamron, the 35-150 f2-2.8 is well regarded but it is big and heavy. It won't be fun to carr

Nikon Z6II or canon?

Despite being a generation behind in AF performance, the Z6II is still a remarkably capable camera today. It has one of the best sensors Nikon has ever put in a camera, as it’s still in use with the Zf and Z5II. I had a Z6II for a long time and shot professionally with it and never had any complaint
