Make me feel better about my purchase. New Z6ii

The main criticism against the first/second generation of Nikon's mirrorless cameras is that the autofocus has trouble keeping up with fast moving subjects. While this is a fair criticism, it's also nowhere near as bad as people on the internet like to make it out to be. If your primary use cases ar

Those who've switched DSLR to mirrorless....

Zero regrets. From a Nikon D500 crop sensor to a full-frame Z6ii. I went from a great camera to a fantastic one.

Z6 III or Z8? I have the 45MP FOMO but my bank account is in DX mode.

Yeah get the z6iii with the lens zoom!! I have the Nikon 200-500 zoom lens and I rather use that on my z6ii than to crop in! I mostly use it for landscape and random wild life I see . I do also wants the Z8 and I do want it for 8k video since I do both but I rather also get the Z6iii and use it's 6K

Upgrade my gear from Nikon Z6II to Nikon Z8

The Z8 far, far exceeds the Z6ii in almost every way, so I am confident in saying it will be better “in terms of performance and technical features”, since you haven’t actually said what your needs are. AF performance, subject detection, 3D tracking, speed, resolution, controls, video, low latency v

Passing the torch Z6 -> Z6iii

My Z6 is ironically pretty much a dedicated video camera now, in a rig. Because even though its internal video can't keep up, its 10-bit UHD output for Prores 422 recording is great. And I've set it up to be easy to grab out of its rig when I want to use it as just a normal camera again. And ironica

Considering buying into Nikon

Hi I've been shooting Nikon for over 20 years. I do have some Sony camera's and used to own a few Olympus and Panasonic M43 camera's and lenses. I shoot mostly for fun, but I also do a few paid gigs per year. For the type of photography you describe, a full-frame sensor makes sense because they offe

Nikon Z6II or canon?

Also if it's in your budget, get the Nikon Z5II, it's newer than the Z6II and performs much better

Anyone here switch from Nikon to Fuji?

Didn't switch but love both. Nikon z6ii is incred. Colour science for landscapes and greens is amazing. Fuji xt3 and fuji primes for street, holidays, family walks, stealth mode Fuji xt1 infrared for midday midsummer trees and architecture. Love Nikon but Fuji are so tactile, fun, creative, wellbuil

Anyone here with a Z7ii?

I have a z5 and a z7ii. I don't think the low light or focus will be dramatically different, the z6ii and z7ii are very similar cameras, and they share the same electronics and software. In some ways, the 24mp sensor performs better, especially at high iso. At low iso, the z7 is better. https://phot

Z50ii upgrade?

Always upgrade to a current generation Expeed 7 Nikon camera. Your own Z50ii is an Expeed 7 camera, whereas the Z7ii is not, so you'll actually get much worse autofocus performance with that 'upgrade'. The Z5ii is a solid choice as an upgrade. Not only do you get a full frame sensor and hence shallo
