Most photographers don’t need better gear, they need better taste

This is the part I strongly disagree with. The difference is keeper rate and expectations. With a modern higher end mirrorless like Sony a7v Nikon Z6III or something, even a beginner can get like a 40% keeper rate, and a moderately skilled amateur can get into like 70% rate. But if you're shooting a

Z5II or Z6II

Z5ii, it has the newer expeed 7 processor and much better auto focus than the z6ii. I went from a Nikon d7200 to a z5ii and i'm very happy with it.

Make me feel better about my purchase. New Z6ii

The main criticism against the first/second generation of Nikon's mirrorless cameras is that the autofocus has trouble keeping up with fast moving subjects. While this is a fair criticism, it's also nowhere near as bad as people on the internet like to make it out to be. If your primary use cases ar

Switched From Canon To Nikon, I think I made the right choice.

"....looking on upgrading to the Nikon Z6ii or Z5ii next year." The Z6II will not feel like much of an upgrade. When you do get around to upgrading, don't bother with anything other than an EXPEED 7 body - they are an order of magnitude better in the AF department. Currently that means a Z50II, Z5II

Which one should i buy sony or nikon?

Both are excellent option. You should look which system offers you lenses you need. Between a7iv and z5ii I would argue it's hard to beat the value z5ii offers for the money. But if you want access to all that sony glass and sigma f1.4 (we prob won't see nikon S f1.4 lenses) then go sony. Imo betwee

Just how bad is the Z7II's autofocus?

I'm not sure where this idea comes from, perhaps other than maybe the Z8/9 and newer Expeed 7-based cameras just being so much better by comparison (which they are). That said, I used Z6II and Z7II bodies for work for a few years, and they were "fine." I didn't like their subject tracking implementa

Nikon z6 for everything

The D7200 is only 90 g (3 oz) heavier than the Z6. If weight is your main concern and want to get into mirrorless, take a look at the Z50ii. It is over 300 g lighter than the D7200 plus it has the most current generation processor (Expeed 7), which the Z5ii also has. It has much better autofocus, fa

DSLR or Mirrorless for airshow photography, $800 budget

A few thoughts from some who has shot a significant amount of airshows, and has experience with both DSLR and mirrorless: First off, airshow photography isn't very demanding on autofocus. You don't need some fancy camera for that, it's generally a plane contrasted in a bright sky That said, I don't

Z6 III or Z8? I have the 45MP FOMO but my bank account is in DX mode.

Yeah get the z6iii with the lens zoom!! I have the Nikon 200-500 zoom lens and I rather use that on my z6ii than to crop in! I mostly use it for landscape and random wild life I see . I do also wants the Z8 and I do want it for 8k video since I do both but I rather also get the Z6iii and use it's 6K

Upgrade my gear from Nikon Z6II to Nikon Z8

The Z8 far, far exceeds the Z6ii in almost every way, so I am confident in saying it will be better “in terms of performance and technical features”, since you haven’t actually said what your needs are. AF performance, subject detection, 3D tracking, speed, resolution, controls, video, low latency v
